Abigail : When you're nobody special, you can say: I want to be this. And nobody can stop you and you can just ride off on your horse and be it.
John Gillman : Don't you believe it. You are what they want you to be and nobody else.
Abigail : Who's they?
John Gillman : You wouldn't understand.
Abigail : You've just spoilt it. That's what everyone says to children.
John Gillman : They's just about everything, I guess. Like not having rain when you need it, riding on when you'd like to sit a while, sometimes somebody not liking your face, somebody not liking you. Sometimes it's, most times it's you not liking yourself.

John Gillman : It's no wonder aint nobody adopted you. I never met such a kid in all my born days.
