Josh follows the downcast Charlie Wright into the saloon for a drink. Charlie talks about how he was the first to stake a claim in town and always willing to help when anything needs to be done. But he feels no one recognizes his contribution or shows any interest in him. He feels the solution is to marry a beautiful woman. Because he once helped Josh when he was down on his luck, Charlie asks Josh to help him. Josh tries to turn down the request but Charlie reminds him of their past so Josh grudgingly agrees to help. Charlie has a list of six of the women in town he feels would be ideal candidates. The first Ruby Todd who sings at a saloon was just married. The others including the school teacher has no interest in Charlie. With the list a bust, Josh calls his friend Amy Williams who always travels with her father Zeb in to court Charlie for two weeks for $200. When she learns Charlie owns a gold mine, it is a fast engagement much to Josh's dismay. By accident Josh thinks he finds the right woman but does Charlie?
