Once Again Their Very Beings Are the Biggest Roadblock
Hitchcoc16 October 2019
NIles and Frasier decide to throw a dinner party but must find a date for it. Then they begin to screen guests for their desirability (snob appeal). Things go haywire from the beginning, going downhill from there. Watching these two gyrate and accuse is worth the trip.

Black Ball this at your peril!

Possibly my favorite episode (after "The Seal who came to Dinner").

A solid episode of Frasier and Niles shenanigans with no plot beyond them coordinating the perfect dinner party and all from the comfort of their non-depressing apartment.

Black-balling, telephone-over-hearings and quip after quip make this episode simply sparkle.

It develops elegantly until it comes full circle in a fine climax of desperation. The episodes which involve the brothers try (and inevitably fail) are typically some of the harder to watch for me. But this one just got it right with its fast pace and how it ultimately asks the question of how co-dependency can sneak up on you.

It's a wonderful example of when the emphasis is on the COM not the SIT but I like to think it's a little poignant too.

The Attempted Dinner Party
mattalan-8443220 March 2018
This is not only a very unique episode of Frasier, but also hysterically funny.

In this episode, Niles and Frasier spend the entire 22 minutes attempting to plan a dinner party on a date that works for everyone, first getting over the obstacle of Martin's Poker Night, then trying to find guests. But it all comes down to a disaster. A very unique episode overall, considering it is all in real-time

Watch for yourself and witness funny in action!

The Best Frasier Episode
A very unique episode, this one runs in real time. No time passes off camera. They could have performed and aired it live. The brothers decide to throw a dinner party, and the episode explores their attempt at agreeing on what four couples to invite, how they should invite them, and finally their analytical nature and tendencies as they attempt to analyze what their society friends think of their close relationship as brothers when one of their guests displays lukewarm enthusiasm to the invite. A great episode to watch, and in the eleven seasons, my personal favorite. Top shelf writing. Set aside some time to view this episode, maybe twice to fully enjoy the spot on comedy. You will enjoy!
