Douglas Dick: Fred Reynolds

Quotes

  • [Photographer Fred Reynolds and his guide, Charlie Moore are watching an alligator battle a large animal]

Fred Reynolds : Charlie, I don't care if you've been a guide in these swamps for a hundred years. You can't tell me that you aren't excited by that fight.

Charlie Moore : Yeah, but it bothers me they're chewin' up good hide.

  • [Charlie is tinkering with his fishing rod]

Fred Reynolds : What are you doin'? Tryin' for that old catfish again, Charlie?

    Charlie Moore : Yeah.

Fred Reynolds : I think he's to smart for ya.

Charlie Moore : He's smart all right. Wouldn't be that big and that old if he wasn't - not in these glades.

Fred Reynolds : You're right there. Hundred square miles of swamp and every foot loaded with treachery. I don't see how anything or anybody gets big or old out here.

Charlie Moore : From what I hear, city's no better.

  • Fred Reynolds : It's good to see you again, Constable. It gets kinda lonely out here with only Charlie to look at.

Lincoln Vail : You think it's lonely and I think it's overcrowded. Helicopter's landing, seaplanes overhead - about as busy as New York City.
