  • Erreurs factuelles: The Park Ranger's uniform in the Grand Canyon kayak scene is incorrect. The uniform colors of green and gray are for a National Park Service ranger. The patch on his arm appears to be for the National Park Service, but is the incorrect patch for the service. Also the badge he wears is the badge of the U.S. Forest Service.

  • Continuité: When Chris comes into the trailer to see Tracy, he takes the towel down from around his neck. In the next shot from behind the towel is still around his neck.

  • Anachronismes: Multiple vehicles in the highway and city scenes were models that were unavailable in the early '90's.

  • Anachronismes: When Alex is walking around at night after visiting the, shelter, a parking meter briefly flashes a red light, indicating that time has run out. These types of meters did not exist in 1991.

  • Anachronismes: When Braves fans come into the place where he and his family are celebrating his graduation, they cheer about the tomahawk chop. Braves fans did not start doing the tomahawk chop until 1991. Chris graduated in 1990.

  • Anachronismes: When Chris is viewing the buildings of downtown L.A., a Union Bank of California building is shown. Union Bank of California was formed in 1996, while the film depicts events from 1992.

  • Anachronismes: When Chris catches a ride with a trucker, a yellow sticker in the windshield bearing the number "6" is visible. This is a CVSA inspection sticker that indicates the truck passed a safety inspection in 2006.

  • Anachronismes: When Christopher is walking in downtown Los Angeles, a UPS delivery truck passes directly behind him labeled "ups.com", an inappropriate internet reference for 1992.

  • Anachronismes: In Los Angeles, Christopher walks by Pete's Cafe and Bar. He watches people celebrating inside. Pete's Cafe and Bar did not open until 2006.

  • Révélant des erreurs: (At 1:02:28) When Chris is paddling in the river, you can clearly see a trail in front of him, which is caused by the camera crew's boat.

  • Anachronismes: In the graduation scene at Emory, a female graduate is moving through a row of graduates to take her seat. In her hand is a small silver cell phone. In the row in front of her was another female graduate talking on a small cell phone. This technology was not available in 1990.

After finding that he cannot cross the river and returns to the bus in the rain, he has to reach through a window to open the closed bus door, which he left open.

  • Révélant des erreurs: In the desert when Ron drops Chris off at his camp, Chris hops up onto the hood of Ron's truck. This happens almost immediately after they pull up. Chris should have burned his hands and legs on the hot metal of the hood of the truck, as the engine beneath would still be hot.
