Jimmy Fallon took a lot of heat for rubbing now President Donald Trump's hair on The Tonight Show last summer, and neither he nor the program have truly recovered since. With Stephen Colbert and ex-head Saturday Night Live writer Seth Meyers turning increasingly political pre- and post-election, Fallon has kept his show as non-topical as possible. That's his preference and temperament, but it's also kept him increasingly out-of-touch. Yes, people want to be entertained when they tune into late-night television, but escapism is almost impossible at this point in time.

It's the gossip story that will never die.
In 2002, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake reportedly had a confrontation at a Los Angeles club a few months after their split, which allegedly escalated into a full-on dance-off. According to the memorable Us Weekly report, Spears confronted Timberlake after she spotted him dancing with his then-girlfriend, Jenna Dewan, and the two hashed it out on the dance floor for 90 minutes.
And now, Lifetime's upcoming biopic on Spears, Britney Ever After, is taking on the alleged incident in pop culture history. In this exclusive clip, actor Nathan Keyes -- who plays Timberlake -- tells Natasha Bassett (Spears) to "get over it," before she takes their argument to the next level.

A review of tonight's Mr. Robot coming up just as soon as I create an Angelfire fan page... "I didn't know I could do that." -Darlene A year ago, an episode like "Successor" — in which Elliot is entirely absent, along with his eponymous alter ego, while the focus is almost entirely on Darlene and her remaining comrades — would have been unthinkable. In season 1, Elliot was the show, and vice versa, and most of fsociety barely registered as more than vague shapes lingering on the edge of the frame (which, given the framing of Mr. Robot, rendered them particularly obscure). At this stage of season 2, though, it mostly works. It's not even that Mobley or Trenton or Cisco have transformed into vivid and exciting characters (though we're at least at the point where I remember their names), but that after spending so much time this summer inside Elliot's head — up to...

Though just 25 years old, Indonesian star Bisma Karisma - actual name Bisma Rudiantoro - already has quite the intriguing resume. An accomplished breakdancer, Karisma rose to prominence on the televised Let's Dance competition before ultimately winning the Japanese edition of the show and launching a career as a musician both as a solo act and a member of pop group Sm*Sh. And having appeared in bit parts on television soaps earlier in his career Karisma is now making a concerted push into features, where he may very well be emerging as a legitimate young action star. As fans of action cinema have long been aware dance skills are easily portable into screen fighting, with the degree of body control and the ability to learn...

Dave Grohl and Beck paid tribute to David Bowie at a pre-Grammy party on Sunday night (February 14).
Beck took lead vocals while Dave played the drums and was joined by his fellow surviving Nirvana members Pat Smear on the guitar and Krist Novoselic on bass guitar.

They weren't the only musical stars to pay tribute to David, as Adam Lambert and Fun. singer Jack Antonoff closed the night's performances with their take on Let's Dance.
Other musical interludes on the evening came from Fetty Wap, Melissa Etheridge, Carly Simon, Chicago, and Tori Kelly.

Ben Stiller returns in Zoolander 2 - a sequel that takes its time finally getting going...
15 years have passed since Ben Stiller's clueless male model Derek Zoolander learned that there was more to life than being really, really, really ridiculously good-looking and was brilliantly, absurdly quotable doing it. In a world where Dumb & Dumber To came out in 2014, Zoolander 2 doesn't really feel like as much of a stretch, but that's one of the only reasons why it doesn't feel like a bit of a letdown either.
That's not to say there's not tonnes of potential here. The world of fame and fashion has only grown more absurd since 2001 and, in fact, the real world sometimes feels a little closer to the arch vapidity depicted in the original film. Social media has all but taken over the world, the Kardashians are somehow seen to be worth...

Cena only had his shoulder surgery on January 7, so to be back lifting weights so soon is impressive. He’s famed for fast recovery times, and this early indication is a positive one. Maybe he really could make it back before SummerSlam, and even WrestleMania can’t 100% be ruled out. You can bet a man as driven as Cena is still gunning for it. His “#nevergiveup” statement is a shoot for him.

The Fault in Our Stars hunk shows off some swing dancing, and that's where things get cheeky when he nearly has a suspenders-related wardrobe malfunction. "I danced with Deborah for Let's Dance for Comic Relief [in 2009] and she's pretty good," Bannatyne said.

It's almost impossible to compare a small, independent film with today's no-holds-barred superhero blockbusters. However, if there's one thing that Noah Baumbach's "Frances Ha" manages to have in common with, say, "The Avengers," is secrecy. For the film -- which was shot in secret during 2011 and 2012 -- Baumbach decided to withhold parts of the script from the cast, providing them with only the scenes in which their characters appeared. This method appears to have paid off, as critics have been swooning over "Frances" since it premiered at Telluride Film Festival last fall. Of course, the secrecy factor is where the blockbuster comparisons end for "Frances Ha." The black-and-white movie follows Frances (Greta Gerwig), an aspiring 27-year-old dancer who is looking to come to grips with adulthood as she struggles to keep a job in New York City. Here, Baumbach offers some tips on shooting a secret film, talks about...

The One Show host Alex Jones has claimed that it is still "harder" for women to progress in the TV industry.
Jones said that she has seen examples of sexism during her career, adding that the majority of higher-level jobs are still dominated by men.
"I adore the people I work for but you do notice that at the higher levels they are all men," Jones told Metro.
"And when you're in a meeting, although I don't think it's on purpose, sometimes men only make eye contact with each other."
Commenting on her shelf life as a presenter, Jones added: "I think it's harder for women - I can't speak for other professions but in the media it's still tough."
Jones currently presents The One Show with Matt Baker and annual reality series Let's Dance.... She also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing in 2011.

Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway topped ratings with an impressive audience last night, early viewing figures indicate.
The Geordie duo's ITV format, which took a three-year hiatus until returning last month, averaged 6.48 million, a 29.6% share of the available audience between 7pm and 8.30pm - adding 255,000 on +1.

Jodie Prenger and Lee Nelson have made it to the final of Let's Dance for Comic Relief.
Prenger was the first to make it through, having topped the public vote with a routine to the 1986 Cameo hit 'Word Up', in which the actress dressed as the funk group's frontman Larry Blackmon.
Judges Arlene Phillips, Greg James and Lee Mack then had to choose between Vanessa Feltz, who danced to Cher's 'If I Could Turn Back Time' in leotard and fishnet tights, and Nelson, who was joined by Britain's Got Talent stars Twist & Pulse for a hip-hop spin on Tchaikovsky's 'Swan Lake'. The trio eventually decided to save Nelson.
Newsreaders Ore Oduba and Sonali Shah and ventriloquist Nina Conti received the fewest public votes and were automatically eliminated.

With memories of James Arthur, Rylan Clark and MK1 (remember them!) slowly drifting away, talk of series 10 and this year's judging lineup had become a hot topic for Saturday night TV fans currently stuck in a pre-Voice/Britain's Got Talent Saturday no-man's land with only D-listers in drag on Let's Dance and some bloke from EastEnders ice skating to save us.
So who will be behind the desk on this year's X Factor? Digital Spy takes a look at the judges merry-go-round to try and figure out who is in and who is out.
Gary Barlow
After two years on the panel and not much talent to show for it (Marcus Collins, Christopher Maloney, Cocozza!) many expected Gary Barlow to be jumping off the X Factor funfair in 2013. He's never looked 100% comfortable with the show's balance between entertainment...

Who'd have thought all those years ago when Robert Webb bounded out in a Flashdance perm and a skimpy leotard that Let's Dance for Comic Relief would go on to become a ratings hit and a staple of BBC One's Comic Relief programming?
Not the programme's host Alex Jones, Digital Spy discovered. And the talent show for celebs with two left feet continues to pleasantly surprise the One Show host and Strictly Come Dancing star even as it approaches its fifth series - whether it's due to the stars involved actually being quite good or Russell Kane looking "nearly sexy" as Beyoncé...

It couldn't last forever. Last week's amazing streak of quality Golden Ticket holders on American Idol (which included a questionably self-satisfied Anthony Perkins doppelganger named Paul Jolley) was bound to hit a few bumps, and on Wednesday night's episode featuring auditions in San Antonio and Long Beach, we heard more than our share of underqualified, overannoying singers who were let through anyway. But forget about them. All of them. Well -- except for one of them.
A gorgeous weirdo named Papa Peachez emerged at some point to sing a song he penned himself. The song? Is awful. His voice? Is not nearly good enough for Hollywood. But Nicki Minaj praised his wackiness because she, too, has thought about renaming herself after fruit, and now he's on the road to stardom. I normally wouldn't bring up such a dazed, kooky gent, but listen to the lyrics of his ditty and tell...

It was a celebration of dance music, diva-licious dresses, and style-high stilettos as VH1 Divas brought their "A" Game to the Shrine Auditorium Sunday night in Los Angeles. While certified Diva's like Kelly Clarkson, Ciara, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Kelly Rowland, Jordan Sparks, and House DJ Havana Brown earned their stripes with high octane performances (most notably Cyrus who shock-rocked us with some serious Billy Idol), it was host Adam Lambert who may have been the most entertaining and endearing Diva of all. The opening skit had Lambert taking "Diva lessons" from actress NeNe Leakes which included some humorous hissy fits and a pillow-thrashing tirade directed at Paula Abdul. Already renowned for his fab fashion sense and Mac guy-liner, Lambert's progressive (and may we say fun) approach to his wardrobe is second only to his spine-tingling vocal range. And tonight, Lambert was in top form. With frequent wardrobe changes...

In the final episode before Covert Affairs takes a short hiatus, "Let's Dance" felt like it never took time to catch its breath.
With Annie now out of the hospital, she was going a million miles a minute during the entire hour, attempting to seek revenge for what Lena did to her and Simon. Eventually she got that revenge.
We've seen Annie shoot before. We've seen her kill. That didn't make this one any easier to watch. She still has such an innocence surrounding her that when she was standing toe-to-toe with Lena, I was still expecting someone else to come in and save her from the traitorous agent.
Alas, our little Annie needed no such help. When Lena finally made a move for her gun Ms. Walker took her down with no hesitation, firing a pair of shots straight into her chest. Although there was no other move, like I said,...

The last two episodes of "Covert Affairs" haven't been kind to Annie Walker (Piper Perabo), who found herself shot, comatose and suspected of treason thanks to the machinations of Lena Smith (Sarah Clarke), the true mole inside the CIA.
Lucky for Annie, she had best friend Auggie (Chris Gorham) watching her back and fighting to clear her name while she was unconscious -- but now that she's woken up, she's taking matters into her own hands.
In our exclusive preview clip, we see Annie preparing to hunt down Lena and take revenge for her former mentor's betrayal -- and she looks like she means business. In "Let's Dance," a few months have passed since the events of Episode 9, so we're intrigued to see where things stand between Annie and the agency in the wake of her shooting. The show will go on a three-week hiatus after the Sept. 18 episode, returning...

Outnumbered star Tyger Drew-Honey has wished his Just Dance partner Dani Harmer luck on Strictly Come Dancing. The pair performed a Bugsy Malone dance tribute earlier this year as part of Let's Dance for Sports Relief 2012. "I hope she does really well, and I think she will," Drew-Honey - who will next be seen in BBC Three comedy Cuckoo - told Digital Spy. "No offence meant, but the older people are slightly less athletic, so she'll have an advantage in that sense. And also, from when we were rehearsing Just Dance, [I know] she's got natural dance talent. She's done ballet for years and years, so she does know how to dance." Drew-Honey also revealed that he was considered for this year's Strictly lineup and admitted that he would be keen to appear on the show in the future. (more)...

It's no fun to get behind when covering television since the new episodes just keep arriving. Let's dance through the past three weeks of Smash, our new favorite show, and be thoroughly caught up. Who's joining this kick line with me?
1.4 "The Cost of Art"
In the stellar fourth episode, we've reached day one of workshop rehearsals. The show is speeding along like it's about to be cancelled and wants to cram everything in. In the past I've criticized the show for a mildly sedate energy in certain key moments but that hasn't been from the typical television problem of the plot not advancing.
I love first days, don't you?
The episode title is a literal reference to Eileen's (Anjelica Huston) original Degas which she hopes to sell to finance her Marilyn the Musical workshop. Thematically its a foreshadowing of impending grief for these showbiz folks as they struggle through the creation of the musical.
