- The entire movie is about two soldiers who tell the next of kin that their loved one was killed in action. The scenes with the families are very intense and hard to watch. A mother becomes hysterical as does her pregnant daughter-in-law. A father vomits when he finds out his son has died. The scenes are very realistic and are filmed in unbroken, single-shot takes.
- Captain Stone's breakdown at the end of the film is unexpected and very sad
