I must say that until recently I had never seen an episode of Scrubs. I saw this one and it hit me like a ton of bricks. John McGinley's performance on this episode, and all episodes, is remarkable. Zach Braff may be the star, but McGinley is the heart and soul. I cannot remember the last time a TV show made me cry. Scrubs has the perfect balance of comedy and heart and its remarkable cast backs that up with performances worthy of the emotional reaction of its viewers. McGinley's performance in this episode specifically shows just how talented he is and how much he adds to the show. The follow up episode "My Fallen Idol" jumps into the depths of other characters, Kelsy, J.D, etc, but McGinley remains the source of emotion for them all. He truly is an amazing actor that does an amazing job at portraying emotion on the silver screen.
