What's Wrong With My Bird?
Mark-67SuperSport18 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
So many good episodes from Season 2 but this is my personal favorite.

Janet works overtime and isn't happy she didn't receive a cash bonus. Her boss gave her two tickets to a concert instead of money. ....but the concert is Frank Sinatra. The wheels in Jack's head are going and he mumbles Frank Sinatra is no EggMcMuffin. (Jack is trying to get a date with a Swedish girl but doesn't even have enough money to take her to McDonald's).

Chrissy would also love to see Sinatra. Chrissy feels she could have one ticket and Jack could have one ticket each and go together......but that would put a cramp in Jack's plan to use the 2nd ticket and ask the Swedish girl out. (We never see that girl). That's when the comedic chaos begins.

Jack and Chrissy compete for Janet's Frank Sinatra tickets throughout this episode, catering to Janet's every whim. (Some very funny stuff).

The B-plot is Mr. Roper buying Helen an anniversary gift. A bird to keep their bird company. (Hey, I thought there were no children & no pets) Three's Company never cared much about continuity. Of course, the last thing Helen would want is a bird for an anniversary gift.

Mr. Roper leaves the bird with the trio, so Helen won't see it & will be surprised. That creates quite a bit of comedy. It was hilarious seeing Mr. Roper eating bird seed.

Enough for now but a highly recommended episode!!!

This one's for the birds.
Hey_Sweden2 March 2023
After putting in lots of overtime at her job, Janet is rewarded with not a cash bonus, but a pair of tickets to a Frank Sinatra concert. Both Jack & Chrissy would very much love to go (Jack in particular because there's a Swedish babe he would very much like to impress), so they take turns completely sucking up to Janet. Obviously, she relishes the attention. Meanwhile, Stanley is planning on gifting Helen with a female parakeet for their anniversary, and asks the kids if they'll watch over the animal until it's time to give Helen the present.

There are some truly hysterical moments here: Stanley actually chowing down on bird seed (!), Jack literally begging Janet by acting like a dog and licking her face, and Jack fidgeting all over after he's hid the bird under his sweater so Helen won't see it. John Ritter proves once again how masterful he could be at that sort of physical comedy. It's also fun to watch Jack & Chrissy cater to Janets' every whim, from cookies to coffee to breakfast in bed. And some good humor is had at Larry's expense, as Janet knows full well that if HE got the tickets, he would just use it as a money-making opportunity.

One bright moment near the end involves Helen "dressing up"; it's a hoot to see her in that outfit.

One of the funniest of the second season episodes.

10 out of 10.
