• The movie rights to Largo Winch were first sold 20 years prior to this film to producer Serge Silberman, who's ambition was to create a franchise that could rival James Bond's. He however died before being able to work on the project.
  
  
• Jean Van Hamme declared that though Tomer Sisley doesn't look like Largo Winch as drawn by Philippe Francq, he nevertheless resembles the one depicted in the novels, which preceded the comic book series.
