A powder keg...
rtrafton-19 June 2006
Warning: Spoilers
Emboldened by the ominous nature of "The Amityville Horror", coupled with the on-the-edge- of-your-seat storytelling of "The Evil Dead", "Susannah" reaches out to its viewers from the screen and violently pulls them into the horrifying world that is "Susannah." It takes no prisoners.

Drawing from the mythology from her real life ancestry, writer/director Abbot spins a yarn of horror so freakishly scary it leaves the audience gasping for air. As the legend goes: Susannah, a victim of the notorious Salem witch trials, was hung unjustly by an over zealous minister. As though back for revenge, Susannah begins to make frightening appearances in her present day ancestors dreams! What ensues is an unprecedented piece of horror that starts out over the top, then like some cartoon freakout blasts through the roof! In short: Susannah is a powder keg of a film.
