Robert Ermhardt as a flower salesman reason enough to love this one

Warning: Spoilers
Pat Hingle (check him out in "The Ugly American") runs a halfway house while also stealing money from numbers runners, one of whom is Robert Ermhardt, a classic character actor who oozed sleaze. I best remember him in the Alfred Hitchcock Presents episode, "Road Hog." The Star Trek-Ironside connection continues. Previously we had Bones, Kirk, Chekov, Khan, and Kirk. This episode features Paul Winfield, who was great in Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan as Captain Terrell.

Unbending gets bent
bkoganbing22 June 2017
The very unbending Chief Robert Ironside when it comes to his job bends the law all out of shape here when it comes to helping out a friend trying to keep his halfway house for ex-cons open and functioning. In fact Pat Hingle who back in the day was one of the best safecrackers around is up against it trying to keep his charity afloat.

What to do but ripoff some numbers runners and who are they going to call. Not the police, but things could get bad if they figure out who's behind the loss of their revenue.

Most memorable in this story is a performance by Paul Winfield as one of the runners. But what might work in a show like The Rockford Files or even McCloud doesn't work for Ironside.
