"Sucker for the Suck-o-Matic" was originally going to be the pilot for "Rocko", but Nickelodeon considered Heffer, a fat yellow cow with green hair, to be "too weird" for focus groups, so Joe Murray showed them "Trash-O-Madness" instead.
This is the only episode in which Rocko has a fireplace in his house.
There was a reference to the assassination of President Kennedy. While Heffer was watching TV, you can here a parade being televised. It is mentioned that once the motorcade had rounded the corner, shots rang out. Heffer instantly changes the channel.
This is the series premiere and the first official episode of "Rocko's Modern Life".
Originally aired as a series premiere on September 19 1993, but aired as a eighth episode on October 31, 1993 instead.
