Vern's Two Daughters is another funny outing of My Little Margie
The son of an old friend and client of Vern and Mr. Honeywell is coming over to meet Margie. As usual, however, Margie's father and his boss think Margie is trouble and have sent her to a college party she had been wanting to go to. Margie pretends to leave with a woman elderly neighbor then comes back to spy on what is going on. The Albrights next door neighbor Roberta Townsend is posing as Margie in her place. This makes Margie mad enough to pose as sister "Helen". I think that's enough to make anyone who loves contrived '50s sitcoms to possibly decide to watch one of the most enjoyable episodes of this long-forgotten show. Loved Hilary Brooke's attempts at modern slang. What Anita Garvin was to Laurel and Hardy, and Christine McIntire was to the Three Stooges with Shemp, Ms. Brooke was to Abbott and Costello in their TV series: wonderful female foils to the great comedy teams. Just about all the supporting actors which also includes the hilarious Willie Best are in fine form here. Worth looking for on Family Net on late night Tuesday.
