My nomination for PT's worst feature
Since-retired Adult Cinema maestro Paul Thomas directed under many pseudonyms, ranging from Chuck Lords to Judy Blue, but this horrible vehicle for Vivid's contract pair the Love Twins is likely the worst he ever signed with his "Paul Thomas" main stage name. He even seems serious about his work in the BTS short subject, but the results are dreadful.
Made near the beginning of the twins' film career (their debut was "Two Hot", also by PT), the feature suffers from Lacey and Lyndsey's inability to act, even at the most minimal level. Perhaps their twin act would work in a gonzo/all-sex format but with idiotic story line attached it is difficult to maintain interest. Also, the sex scenes that represent the video's raison d'etre, are mechanical and perfunctory. PT is operating under a modern porn convention, in which incest is verboten (limited to thousands of teasing videos dealing with step-sister or step-father arrangements) so during all the sex scenes Lacey and Lyndsey are not allowed to touch each other, just joining up to service some stud.
Lacey is the title twin, visiting sis Lyndsey who wears glasses and is the mousy one. Though not absolutely identical looking, the styling here has one with curly and the other with straight hair. Premise has Jeneveve Jolie (easily stealing the show from the Loves in all departments) as Lyndsey's roommate, and minor complications occurring as all three eventually make a play for the landlord, woodenly played by Talon. There is a script, but it seems improvised due to many contradictions, as Talon seems at one moment to be sexually harassing - Jolie routinely pays the rent by servicing him - or is merely Jolie's boyfriend, with jealousy created amongst the gals. For variety's sake there are a couple more boyfriends introduced arbitrarily, that cop turned porn stud turned fake cop Jack Lawrence/Steve Crest, and a bewildered seeming Evan Stone (evidently handed the script at the last minute).
PT's direction is sloppy beyond belief, and the low quality overall betrays how Vivid, a label so smug in its industry leadership, was cranking out mainly sludge during its peak period. Examining its features randomly at a safe distance, years or decades after they routinely earned phony industry accolades (AVN noms & awards), the reputation simply doesn't hold up, especially when compared to peers such as Wicked, A & E or Sin City.
