- Révélant des erreurs: In the Himalayas, a shot of a running soldier's foot clearly shows sand, not snow.
- Continuité: Just before the battle at the temple bridge, Rick has a Thompson Sub-Machine Gun loaded with a 50-round drum. When the battle begins, the Thompson has a 30-round stick magazine.
- Anachronismes: During the 1947 Chinese New Year celebrations, a black Dodge four-door sedan has hubcaps from the late 1970s.
- Anachronismes: The drum set in the nightclub is not from the 1930s. Some of the hardware (ex. cymbal stands) was not available until the 1980s.
- Anachronismes: The dancing girls in the nightclub have plastic straps on their bras.
- Erreurs factuelles: In ancient China, oracle bones were turtle shells that were heated during divination, the cracks that appeared across Chinese characters written on the shells were then interpreted to foretell the future.
- Erreurs faites par les personnages (éventuellement des erreurs délibérées par les cinéastes): On the mountain, Rick says he had more experience with mummies. Alex says that he only killed one. Rick says he killed 2. Alex then says it was the same mummy twice. In 'The Mummy Returns', he killed the original mummy and the Scorpion King, for a total of 3 mummies. Actually, they are both wrong. Rick killed Imhotep in the first movie. In the second movie Imhotep lets himself be dragged down to the underworld. What neither Alex or Rick account for is the priests and soldiers of Imhotep that Rick killed in both movies. These fellows were mummified in the beginning of the first movie. The Scorpion King does not count as a mummy as he was transported bodily, while still alive, by Anubis to his realm and never mummified.
- Continuité: When Evelyn discovers the bullet in the trout, she pulls it out of her mouth. In the next shot of the left side of her face, she pulls the bullet out again.
- Erreurs factuelles: The bullet Evelyn pulls from her mouth is compressed, as though it had struck a solid object. A close-range shot would have passed straight through a trout.
- Continuité: In the museum scene, Choi grabs Evie and wraps her arm around Evie's neck. Evie gets away. In the next shot, Choi's arm is around Evie's neck again.
- Continuité: In the second movie, Alex had a British accent. In this movie, he has an American accent.
- Anachronismes: A tan 1949 Austin passes in front of a bookstore in 1947.
- Erreurs factuelles: The orchestral chimes behind the drummer are turned around backwards, facing the curtain behind the band.
- Continuité: When Alex and Lin are under the emperor's wagon during the chase, Alex turns himself around, and is dragged in the street for a fair distance while Lin tries to reach him to pull him up. When she succeeds, the back of Alex's shirt is shredded, and a protective pad is visible through the tears. In the next shot, his shirt is intact.
- Anachronismes: At the beginning of the movie the dragon emperor is shown planning his campaign on a model of China which clearly has the Great Wall of China portrayed on it, even though it was the dragon emperor himself who built the wall AFTER the campaign.
- Erreurs faites par les personnages (éventuellement des erreurs délibérées par les cinéastes): The O'Connells keep calling Jet Li's character and his Terracotta Army "mummys". Yet not one character in this movie goes through the mummification process. The only mummy we see is the fake emperor that Lin stabs.
- Continuité: In the beginning of the movie, General Ming was ripped to pieces after having been chained by both arms and legs. He would have had to have lost a minimum of three limbs in the process, rather than just the one arm.

- Considéré à tort comme goofs: SPOILER: When the Emperor is turned to stone, both arms are raised up and he is slightly hunched down. When he is unearthed, he is encased in a different Terra Cota warrior who is standing straight, one hand straight out, grasping the chariot's reins. However, when he breaks out, his hands are clearly shown straight up and it is clear he is trapped inside another statue in his original position.
