Lawyers representing two Iraqi refugees, detained at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport following President Donald Trump’s suspension of the refugee program, filed a suit early Saturday for their clients to be released.
The Iraqi men, Hameed Khalid Darweesh and Haider Sameer Abdulkhaleq Alshawi, arrived on separate flights and were detained Friday night, the New York Times first reported.
Darweesh had served as an interpreter for the U.S. military in Iraq, according to the Times. He was released Saturday afternoon, according to New York Reps. Jerry Nadler and Nydia Velázquez.

After seeing Cassie Scerbo’s fantastic performance in Sharknado I made it a point to track down and watch anything new movie she was in, which coupled with the ridiculous new re-titling (this film originally aired on Us television as Beasts of the Bering Sea), made Damn Sea Vampires! a must-watch. It doesn’t hurt that the film is also helmed by cinematographer Don E. FauntLeRoy – who cut his directorial teeth on two Anaconda sequels and a handful of Steven Seagal movies, including one of the star best post-2005 flicks, Renegade Justice (a personal fave).
Damn Sea Vampires! follows a family of treasure hunters: siblings Donna (Scerbo) and Joe and their father (Dobson), who spend their days dredging for gold beneath the Bering Sea. Having already lost a crew member,...

Yet, here at Dread Central we've been known to cover the world of the bizarre and the paranormal. You're about to learn something about Seagal that is beyond bizarre...
Did you ever notice the strangest thing about Seagal movie titles is that they tell a story in order of their release? No? Check IMDb if you don't believe. Sit back, dear reader, and allow me to take you on a strange trip filled with action, madmen, and revenge.
Steven Seagal was Above The Law, but he was too Hard To Kill so now he's been Marked For Death by Jamaicans who are Out For Justice. Can he live while Under Siege and On Deadly Ground? Could you survive while Under Siege...

Following up on the Secret Service prostitution scandal, Bill O'Reilly discussed a related story Tuesday night about those who are using the scandal to promote the legalization of prostitution. Sienna Baskin, co-director of the Sex Workers Project at Urban Justice Center, gave her take — asserting that many of these girls don't have another choice. O'Reilly disagreed: after all, "this is America, the land of opportunity."...

Jeff Yang The Domo Taco Truck.
On a startlingly sunny winter day in the Flatiron District, the walking traffic along lower Park Ave. has slowed to a crawl. The culprit: A knot of hungry folks on lunch break who’ve congregated around a bright yellow-green van parked in a choice slot between 23rd and 24th. Some pedestrians grumble as they’re forced to go around — but every so often, one takes a peek at the menu and joins the throng.

The four female bodies that were found on a Long Island beach may not have been missing call girls who used Craigslist, but the grisly discovery has renewed scrutiny on the site-and the safety of Internet prostitution.
As Ashley tells it, she's just not taking any chances. There are lots of freaks online, not to mention policemen who might be looking to make a fresh catch. "From the wording of their emails, you can sometimes tell if they're psychopaths or cops," she said in a phone interview after I found her ad on Craigslist. "If they don't send pictures, that's a red flag. If they send too many, it's a red flag. If they're asking too many personal questions, again: red flag."

Steven Seagal has made some of my favorite movies of all time, like “Out for Justice”, “Hard to Kill”, “Above the Law”, “Under Siege”. He’s also made some unwatchable garbage, but that’s beside the point. His fight with Dan Inosanto in “Out for Justice” is on my short list of best fights ever. In honor of “Machete”, his first theatrically released movie in quite some time, I thought I would see what else he’s been up to and watch something recent. Even though his movies haven’t found their way to the local mega-plex, we all know that Seagal has been prolific in the direct-to-video market, knocking out three or four movies a year. And even though few people believe me, every third or fourth one of those is pretty good (“Urban Justice” and “Belly of the Beast” are prime examples). Unfortunately, “A Dangerous Man”, his most current Dtv release,...

Sony Pictures' upcoming release of Against the Dark (formerly called Last Night) will find Seagal amidst all manner of toothy mayhem.
From the official synopsis:
"Katana master Tao (Steven Seagal) leads a special ops squad of ex-military vigilantes on a massacre mission, their target: vampires. On the post apocalyptic globe, sucked dry by bloodthirsty vampires, a few remaining survivors are trapped in an infected hospital. Tao is their only hope and he knows the only cure is execution. Now it’s time for the last stand against the flesh-eating vampires and there’s nothing left to lose but the last of humanity."

Under normal circumstances an Anaconda sequel made for the Sci-Fi Channel would not elicit any degree of excitement of my part but when the sequel stars David Hasselhoff and the prospect of seeing "The Hoff" fight and possibly get eaten by a huge snake looms on the horizon, yeah, consider me officially interested.
Anaconda 3: The Offspring premieres this Saturday night on the Sci-Fi Channel (9/8 Central with the usual repeat four hours later) starring David Hasselhoff as a mercenary-for-hire who accepts a mission from a billionaire (John Rhys-Davies, a man's gotta eat) to capture a dangerous snake that could possibly help cure a terminal illness. Rounding out the cast are Crystal Allen, Patrick Regis, and Anthony Green in the prerequisite attractive female, token black, and handsome riverboat captain roles.
This installment in the Anaconda franchise is directed by Don E. FauntLeRoy. He knows something about dealing with coldblooded creatures having...
