Interesting and satisfying, but it's no Timesplitters.

Haze is something of a anomaly. On one hand, it has some pretty bad level design, stupid A.I, boring weapons, ugly graphics...yet I'm incapable of hating it. Haze is by no means nothing on the level of something like Half-life, Call of Duty or even Free Radical's own Timesplitter games but is it definitely isn't the worst game on the market.

Haze is pretty much saved from eternal damnation in video game hell by some pretty fun and interesting ideas, which give the game it's own identity. Nectar is fun to mess about with, but ultimately it's the rebels who steal the show. Few things are as satisfying as kicking a mantel trooper in the groin, or stealing their guns straight from their hands only to shoot them in the face with it. Haze also has online and split-screen co-op, which is always fun, even if all you do is rip the game to shreds.

Personally though, the thing that pisses me off about Haze the most, is the fact it wastes such a great concept with bad-dialogue and voice acting. The amount of things Free Radical could have done with Haze's concept could have made Haze something truly great, but no, they wasted it.

Overall, Haze will not appeal to many people but if you like the look of it and given it some thought, buy it...cheaply. It's not perfect but it's enough to shed out £10 for.

ALSO! If you do get it, do a 1 vs 15 game with yourself and bots. It's good fun.

NOT at all FUN!!!

This Game is a good looking First Person Shooter. -----------Hang on......

But of course a story must be put around this genre, so a quite innovative plot about soldiers now driven by drugs to save the world and kill the terrorist, Nectar is the drug of choice which creates a super soldier.

Great, now just give us some fun, challenging missions, throw in some great new weapons and free terrain vehicles that can be driven at our leisure and I will be quite content.

NO!!!!

The maker's of this game decide to create a propagandish, military driven game, that tries to make sense of our fears of terrorism and embracing democracy. The game has twisted ideals that just re-enforce morals that we learned when we were in primary school, nothing new is told to us, but "Drugs are bad...mmmkay". Then pushed in a type of ....Yvan eht Nnnioooojjjjj! (join the navy) of how standing up for the common good, given rants on normality and abnormality, right and wrong....GOOOOOOOOOOD WE GET IT! LET's KILL SOMETHING!!!!

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't, You are forced to endure extremely long gaps of completing BULLSH!T objectives such as "Run to Helicopter"......."Go to group of Troops" .....Then once this is completed.........CINEMATIC takes over.........You sit there for at least half of the game watching little scenario's played out by the characters, one's you CANNOT skip, but sit and wait, sometimes when people aren't even talking, we sit and wait for a helicopter to land!

Bad game, by a laughable group of programmers! Don't bother making another because I will rather see the movie!

Pretty awesome!

This game is pretty awesome. The single player mode is intense, and so is the multi-player part.

This game is definitely worth buying, if your not already have.

The reason i gave this game 8/10, is because that in some points the graphics and the enemy's AI (Artificial Intelligence) is not the best.

The game-play is a little confusing in the start, but you get ahead of it fast.

The story mode is OK! not the best, but definitely not bad, bad.

But the multi-player part is cool.

So buy this game if you looking for some fun with your friends and yourself. And the best thing is you can sit with a friend and play split screen, that rocks!! Buy it! Buy it! Buy it! or don't! I don't care!!!!

worth that incredibly long wait, all the design and story overhauls and the jumping release date.
tyranid_slayer19 May 2008
I remember way before the playstation 3 or the xbox 360 came out there was word of a new free radical game, who, at the time, were the best developers of FPS titles with the amazing time splitters series.

when the first teaser trailer came out i was excited. But years later when everyone thought possibly the best shooter on next gen went down the drain it popped back up again. But it had a complete design over haul. The armour looked different, different weapons, different feel.

Finally after all the jumping release dates i'm getting my copy this week but would like to write a review for the demo that came up on the playstation store.

excellent absolutely excellent

after what is imagine about a 4 year wait THEE PENULTIMATE shooter is here.

The gameplay is excellent the use of nectar and it's effects are put to excellent use and i know for a fact i'm going to miss nectar when i switch to the rebels. the AI is uber intelligent. probably smarter than the AI in Rainbow six vegas.

if you like free radical games or a newcomer this is an excellent way to start.
