"You idiot! That's the wrong president! Do it again!!"

Warning: Spoilers
Abraham Lincoln once famously quoted that "A house divided can not stand..." Hm, neither it turns out can a presidential monument of him that's missing its head! "An Abe Divided" was one of the stories of this awesomely random and freaky show that always made me want to laugh just be recalling it, it's like what were the writers smoking when they came up with the idea of Ren and Stimpy looking for treasure in the Lincoln Memorial's head?! It's so stupid but really funny, I love the oddball touches like the sergeant that I'm pretty sure is meant to be a woman although it looks very much like a huge bull-necked man with proper breasts! And also there's when Stimpy starts bawling because he thinks that Santa Claus is dead when Ren tells him it's a memorial! "Ren's Pecs" is good too but I just enjoy the second story a lot better, for one thing it's definitely more entertaining. The best part is when they've sawed off the head and have to try and rebuild it after Stimpy immediately drops it, and it crumbles into powder after being re-broken twice, at which point they resort to using random objects to try to replace it, including the bizarre spectacle of a flaming dumpster with a chalk face scribbled on it! And the weird ending where they end up being forced to replace the monument's head themselves doesn't make any sense, but that was one of the coolest things about this show, nothing had to make sense and you didn't care! Fun episode, still funny and brilliantly strange, a very well deserved 8 servings of Grade A butt fat out of 10! X

It made me laugh, a lot!

After watching a terrible movie called Edge of tomorrow, for some reason, I decided to watch the first Nickelodeon show called Ren and Stimpy back in May 2021. This is the first episode that popped in my recommendations, I watched it in russian, and the second segment (I'll only review this one) has 3 titles, the official english one (An Abe divided), and two russian titles (Dream job and Treasure seekers). My favorite title is the first one. Anyways, onto the episode itself. This was my first introduction to the show, and it was definitely a funny experience. So Ren the Chihuahua and Stimpy the cat decided to get some money and both get hired as the guards of the Abraham Lincoln president statue. A day later, they hear rumours that there might be a treasure inside his head. So of course Ren's curious and wants to find a way to obtain it. Later on, Stimpy accidentally broke the head of the statue and they actually found something unexpected. I won't exactly tell you what is it, but I'll give you a little hint. Stimpy was right after all and even though he isn't the brightest bulb in the pack, he somehow knew what was inside. Soon afterwards, both try to fix the head, but sadly failed.

It honesty reminded me of the Timon and Pumba show, and I used to watch it a lot as a little girl. I loved it back then! So maybe that's the reason why I thought that Ren and Stimpy was funny. Though it does contain some darker humour, like the fact that the cat character thought that the president is Santa Clause and then the dog would tell that this is a memorial, and Stimpy thinks that Santa's dead. That's something unique for a Nickelodeon show, and they were just starting their own animation buisness.

Surprisingly, an 11 minute cartoon gave me more character development, entertainment and interesting plot twists than a 2 hour movie about an alien war with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. I can even say that Ren and Stimpy are the best Edge of tomorrow characters! (Don't take this seriously) I really recommend you to check out this episode, especially after you watched a bad movie and you just feel let down. Just a little warning, there's some gross and dark humour, so it's not for everyone, and not for young children (I would suggest parental guidance for ages 5-12, and for ages 13+, it's fine to watch it on your own.) As for me, I laughed so hard at this that it made my day better.

"Statue" of Liberties...

This episode seemed a little off the mark. In "Ren's Pecs", we see Ren humiliated in public, which then motivates him to increase his physical size - well, mainly his pectorals. A public humiliation in front of some girls motivated him to make this implant happen. And, in what I believe to be Charles Globes first appearance, Ren is persuaded right there and then by this strange sea-dwelling character to go ahead with the operation.

Where Ren gets the extra "tissue" from his implant is humorous, but this joke is milked to the limit. Also, the hospitals scenes really could of been funnier (although they were gruesome enough).

"An Abe Divided" really didn't come through with much success. We see the two on guard duty at a Lincoln-esqe memorial. Does hilarity ensue? No, not really. Of course, they mess everything up by pursuing a rumour that there is treasure buried in the statue's skull. There are so-so laughs here, (although how they try to cover their tracks is probably the best laugh). Of course, the cross-dressing Army seargant who gives them the work is a welcome addition, but it doesn't quite get this episode up and running...
