I rarely take time out to leave a negative review but this episode of television squanders and wastes a talented cast so badly with its terrible writing it left me no choice. Absolutely terrible episode simply because of how mediocre, lacklustre, and woefully predictable it is. Danny Pudi and Rob McElhenney are bright spots in this episode with charming, funny, and believable performances and none of the rest of the cast are bad. That is as far as compliments go for this episode. Without going into specifics, I am all for diversity and tackling social issues in television. However this episode does it so ham-fistedly and without subtlety it actually enraged me.
Some of the characters are yet to start shining and they better start soon because my patience is wearing thin. We are very few episodes in and it is already so formulaic it is laughable. Episode starts with something threatening the game profiting (that the audience rarely cares about) and episodes end with the team solving the problem. This is so simplistic and boring I cannot explain it in words.
For the sake of the talented cast and the great premise of the show, I wish the writers get it together for future episodes because I would love to love this show. Please, have some more subtelty!
