- Although somber in tone, the story centres on the tragic life of a prostitute and a minor who is groomed into prostitution. The conversations and circumstances of the film are persistently sexualized.
- The first half of the film is rather mild in its portrayals, though sex is implied and some dancing occurs. At almost the half-way point the scenes become decidedly more explicit.
