Cyril's cologne isn't selling so the pigs come up with the idea to have the Raccoons and their friends sell it after seeing them in a band together. Everyone refuses, but Bert is on the fence, so they convince Bert to help them sell the cologne. He and Cyril clash over creative ideas. Cyril has poor Bert do dangerous stunts like driving a motorcycle across a canyon and hangglide off a cliff, while Bert just wants to sing (and despite what his friends say he's not that bad). This episode has some great lines and really funny moments. One scene has Ralph as the victim of a pratfall of sorts and his complete seriousness makes the joke work. The climactic scene is like something out of 'The Wages of Fear', even though you know everything will turn out alright at the end.
It could have done with a stronger ending. I can practically see Bert standing outside Sneer Mansion with a megaphone, screaming, "I almost died filming your commercial, now where's my peanut butter?!"
Why didn't Len Carlson sing more? The Raccoons have the potential to be a virtual band like the Archies, but unfortunately they haven't had the same popularity, which is a shame. Anyway, this is a great episode. Recommended.
