Mumbai, Nov 11: Actor Imran Khan, who is going through a rough patch in his career, says his only success has come from first time directors.
"The funny thing in my life is that my only success is with the first time director. Anytime I have gone away from the first time directors, things have not worked for me," Imran started his career with Abbas Tyrewala's directorial debut "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na", a hit at the box office.
"Logically, if I think about 'Kidnap', the director (Sanjay Gadhvi) had given a blockbuster like 'Dhoom', but it didn't work for me. My understanding is that I should work with guys of my age,".

When Ranbir Kapoor, Imran Khan and Neil Nitin Mukesh entered the Bollywood scene around the same time, industry was of opinion that the trio would turn out to be a similar phenomenon as the Khans (Aamir, Salman, Shah Rukh) had turned out to be 20 years ago. While Ranbir raced ahead with unconventional choice of roles, Imran managed to put his act together after the twin debacle of Kidnap and Luck. However, Neil Nitin Mukesh wasn't as lucky as the others around him kept running faster. Now, he has pretty much announced an open challenge, what with his David taking Imran's Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola heads on.
"What makes this clash all the more interesting is that Matru... was announced a year ago and its release date too was fixed six months back. Still, for Neil's David to suddenly decide January 11 as the D-day is nothing less than surprising", comments an insider.

He shot to limelight after delivering two huge money-spinners in the form of Dhoom and Dhoom 2, only to stumble on a roadblock called Kidnap. Though Sanjay Gadhvi was in a brief oblivion after that, he has now returned to making films with Ajab Gazabb Love. Now if reports trickling in from the sets of the film are any indication, Gadhvi has returned to vintage form with this love story that takes him back to his roots of romantic entertainers like Mere Yaare Ki Shaadi Hai and Tere Liye. "He is someone who understands commercial cinema and is quite a pro in his work. I have worked with some new directors in the last two-three years but looking at him, I can say that he can be left entirely on his own to do the job", says producer Vashu Bhagnani who roped in new filmmakers for his son Jackky's launch pad...

Minissha Lamba is our very own Baywatch guard and Vinay Pathak knows it best
Minissha Lamba has become quite the bikini babe of Bollywood. Kidnap (2008) first saw Minissha swimming in her sexy bikinis and increasing the oomph quotient in the film. Then came the Man’s World magazine photo shoot for April 2011 where Minissha again donned some skimpy swim wear. Recently, Minissha did justice to her bikini image by saving Vinay Pathak from drowning and adopted the perfect lifeguard role.
