Pete and Polly head to a bodega to stock up on snacks for a TV binge. Every customer thinks Pete is an employee, leading him to the realization that he looks Indian. This news snowballs into an outburst that has the whole store in a tizzy.
Pete has a date and struggles to let go of the superficial details causing him to believe he's too shallow for true love. Polly coaches him through the date in hopes that if Pete gets to know the woman, the "little things" won't matter.
Through a granted magical wish made by Pete, Polly is forced to say "no" to everything and everyone for 24 hours making her realize you can't always say yes.
Pete and Polly rush to a last-minute surprise party. Getting on the germ-infested train sans sanitizer shakes him to his core. While at the party, Polly makes career moves as Pete struggles with his germaphobia and personal insecurities.
