Cudgy and Specks visit Peggy and, in an attempt to gain her favor, volunteer to take her father, who is troubled with gout, to the beach for a day's outing. They succeed in balling things up to such an extent that the party returns from the beach. That evening during the peaceful progress of a party a gang of thieves gain entrance to the house and succeed in demoralizing both the people and the furniture until subdued by Peggy's heroes.
