One clear memory I have in regards to being a creative, and I’m sure it’s something many creatives have been told, is that my field of choice (in my case writing) is not a real job . Creativity can feel like a space where so many people enjoy what comes out of it... yet don’t miss a beat when it comes to putting it down as an occupation. Not only is he in anime series like Chainsaw Man (the Bat Devil), Hell’s Paradise (Genji Yamada Asaemon) and...

No official announcement has yet been made by the BBC or production company Bad Wolf, but that hasn’t stopped Variety confirming, or IMDb listing, that Millie Gibson’s successor as Doctor Who companion will be Andor and Jurassic World Dominion actor Varada Sethu.
Sethu is rumoured to be filming with Ncuti Gatwa on series 15 already, and to fulfil the role of the Doctor’s new companion in all eight episodes of that series. So… who is she?
Cinta Kaz in Star Wars Andor
Tony Gilroy’s live-action Cassian Andor prequel series Star Wars: Andor aired in late 2021 on Disney+. Set five years before 2016 movie Rogue One, it’s about the formation of the Rebel Alliance in opposition to the fascistic Galactic Empire. Fader has released Fader & Friends Vol. 1, a real star-studded covers compilation benefitting charities fighting for transgender rights.
There’s a whole lot in these 44 tracks, but here are just a few notable highlights: CoSign alums Wednesday recorded their rendition of Elliott Smith’s “Christian Brothers,” Rostam covered Lucinda Williams’ “Change the Locks,” Ratboys did The Beatles’ “I Wanna Hold Your Hand,” and NNAMDÏ did The Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice.”
While most of the performers on the compilation — including Caroline Rose and Joanna Stenberg, who covered each other — are relative newcomers, the crop of songs constitute a vast timeline. There are covers of Big Thief, Perfume Genius, and Ethel Cain mixed together with songs by Stevie Wonder, Abba, Tina Turner, and Selena. There’s even an old English folk song (courtesy of Helena Deland).

Lake Tomahawk – from former actor turned director Ben Milliken (Newcastle, Blue Crush 2) – follows Ryan Emerson (Schmidt) who, while meeting his girlfriend Sarah’s (Tudor) family for the first time, must prove his intentions and win the approval of her father, Greg (O’Brien), while he masks his jealousy for Sarah’s ex-fling, Tyler (Eaton). As the Thomas family settles in, things start to happen around the cabin; strange footprints by the windows, noises from outside, and a bitter animosity from the locals, including the law enforcement. Lachlan Buchanan plays an average American teenager on Cmt's "Working Class," but viewers may be shocked to hear that he's Australian.
While he's a newcomer to Hollywood, his roles back home include acting in several soap operas and the highly praised role as the self-destructive surfer kid in the Aussie coming-of-age film, "Newcastle."
"You couldn't get more opposite than my upbringing being an Australian kid," he tells Zap2it. "I mean in Australia, we grow up watching American TV and film and I've always been fascinated with American teenagers, their upbringing and American high schools. As the mischievous Scott on "Working Class," Buchanan represents the typical American teen, but he says that he's still constantly learning the fine details of playing the role.

Australia's The Herald Sun is reporting that Xavier Samuel ("Riley" in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) has scored a new film role in a 3-D thriller entitled Bait.
"[T]he estimated $20 million thriller . . . is about a tsunami that hits a seaside town, trapping local shoppers and tourists in a flooded underground shopping centre with a pack of hungry sharks," reports The Herald Sun.
Bait will co-star Step Up: 3D star Sharni Vinson, and it will be filmed in Queenland's Gold Coast.
This won't be the first time Samuel has worked with water (in Eclipse, Drowning, and Newcastle, for instance), nor is it the first thriller he'll have been in (The Loved Ones, Road Kill).

You can't keep an FX boffin down it seems as Roland Emmerich's upcoming "Anonymous", a 16th century conspiracy thriller revolving around the true ownership of the work of William Shakespeare, will feature all sorts of special effects.
Rising Aussie actor Xavier Samuel ("Twilight Saga: Eclipse," "Newcastle") tells GQ Magazine that "there is a lot of green screen, a lot of special effects. They're really re-creating the London from that time. It's going to be quite visually spectacular."
Samuel also discussed his role, saying "I play the Earl of Southampton. He's one of the only people that Shakespeare ever dedicated his work to." Shakespeare himself in the film is being portrayed as "some illiterate actor who was putting his name to plays he didn't even write" and suggests Edward de Vere, the Earl of Oxford as the genuine author of the likes of "Macbeth," "Hamlet," "Romeo and Juliet" and many more.

Twihards, now that you've gotten a good look at "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" trailer, you may have a few questions, like, "Who is Xavier Samuel and why haven't I seen him before he became a newborn vampire?"
The "Twilight" film series is filled with good-looking guys, and Samuel as Riley continues that trend. We did a little digging and found out more about Samuel, who's a 26-year-old actor from Adelaide, Australia. Yes, that's right. Another "Twilight" vampire who has an accent in real life.
For those who haven't read the books or quite gotten a handle on the plot of "Eclipse" yet, Riley is the right-hand vampire to Victoria (Bryce Dallas Howard) who has a beef with Bella (Kristen Stewart). Victoria creates an army of newborn vampires (we like to call them baby vamps) of which Riley is the leader. There's also a bit of romance between them.

Larry411 and I were busy exchanging tweets early today. Our topic - Australian actor Xavier Samuel, who will play Riley on the 3rd installment of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. I find this character quite interesting, to say the least.

- - - The wiki on Twilight characters has the following about Riley:
As a vampire, Riley is tall and muscular with bright red eyes and blond hair. Victoria bites and changes Riley when he is approximately Bella's age in Eclipse. Once Riley ages and gains some control, he helps to lead Victoria's army of newborn vampires. He performs his work faithfully because of his love for Victoria, which she pretends to return. However, in a battle between the army of newborns and the Cullens at the end of Eclipse, Edward voices Riley's concern that Victoria has been lying to him. [ read more ]
There is something tragic about the character.

THR has the first name of the first new castmember for the third “Twilight” movie, “Eclipse”, which is set to shoot a scant month or so from now and hit theaters in 2010. The actor is one Xavier Samuel, who according to THR’s Risky Biz Blog, will play a “newborn vampire” by the name of Riley, described as a good-looking college student who joins the plot of the movie’s villain, Victoria to murder everyone’s favorite gal, Bella (to once again be played by Kristen Stewart). Apparently ol Riley is corrupted by Victoria, for whom he has an inexplicable weakness. And by “weakness” I think they mean she’s a girl. If that’s the case, er, all boys have inexplicable weaknesses. Am I right boys? Anyways. “Eclipse” will be Samuel’s first Stateside role, having appeared in such Aussie flicks as “Newcastle”, “September”, and “Road Train”, three movies you’ve probably never seen,...

Looks like the Twilight series is looking to launch one more career. Empire writes that Australian actor Xavier Samuel will join the cast of Eclipse, the third movie in the series due out in June 2010, playing Riley, "a newborn vampire...instrumental in an evil plot to kill" our heroine, Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).
Odds are, you don't know very much about Xavier Samuel, and unless you've seen movies like Newcastle and September, the odds are even slighter. It's a notable casting choice, though, because Samuel is the first new face to join the cast of Eclipse, which will go in front of cameras later this summer.
As you know, Summit really, really, really wants to cash in now on the Twilight movies, so they're rushing - perhaps too much - to get parts two and three in production and in theaters. New Moon opens a year to the weekend that...

Xavier Samuels is the latest addition to the unstoppable The Twilight Saga, picking up the role of "Riley" in the soon-to-shoot Eclipse threequel. His character is all evil-y, coming under the sway of supper-baddy Victoria, who's out to kill our fair Bella.
Samuels has been bouncing around the Australian indie scene for a while. Gay audiences recognize him from Newcastle, Dan Castle's 2008 Australian coming-off-age surfer movie. His character, Fergus, is the fraternal twin of lead Jesse (Lachlan Buchanan), goth, punky, and gay amongst a group of blond, tanned surf buddies. Fergus falls for one of the statuesque surfer-boys and hilarity ensues.
Actually, no. The film is gritty and emotional. Dark themes. Angst between Fergus and Jessie and their other families. Economic dispair. Earned Mixed reviews, but Samuels has gotten great, great notices. His acting chops no doubt means that his The Twilight Saga: Eclipse role is going to give...

Gather 'round Twilighters! It is now being reported by the Hollywood Reporter that young Australian actor Xavier Samuel, is the first new actor to join the cast of the Twilight sequel, Eclipse (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse). Samuel, has appeared in the films Newcastle and September and will play Riley, a newly born vampire who is instrumental in an evil plot to slay Bella (Kristen Stewart). Below is a snippet of Riley's bio based on the novel Eclipse by Stephenie Meyer: Riley was among the first humans, if not the first, that Victoria changed into a vampire so as to form her army. She needed an older vampire to help control the newborns. To get him to work with her, Victoria told him that she loved him and convinced him to serve her faithfully. He corralled the other new vampires and told them what their mission was and what they were supposed to do.

The first big casting announcement is at hand. There has been a whole deluge of rumors about who would play Riley, Victoria's new right-hand man (of sorts) in Eclipse, the third installment of Twilight. Now the question has been answered. The Hollywood Reporter's Risky Biz Blog reports that Australian actor Xavier Samuel will play Riley. If you have a thing for Down Under cinema, you might have seen him in Newcastle or September.
Now that I've actually read the Twilight series, there are two big question marks that loom overhead. Despite all the fan campaigns wanting Harry Potter star Tom Felton to play vampire Riley in Twilight film Eclipse, unknown Australian actor Xavier Samuel has landed the part.
The Hollywood Reporter said Summit Entertainment had hired the 25-year-old to play the newborn vampire. Riley is a good-looking college student who is corrupted by evil Victoria and joins her scheme to murder Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart).
Screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg had previously said she wanted Channing Tatum to take on the character.
The film's larger story centres on Bella being torn between her vampire lover Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her new friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner), a Quileute tribe member able to transform into a wolf.
Xavier Samuel (pictured) has been in a series of films down under, including Newcastle in which he played a goth teenager in a group of surfers, the Aussie period drama September and the upcoming sci-fi thriller Road Train.
