Derivative and unpleasant, but sometimes suspenseful kidnapping thriller
gridoon202425 May 2008
Amy Carlson (looking fine) is the woman in charge of a bank's security system. Two dirty cops (played by the slightly washed-up duo of Judd Nelson and Thomas Ian Griffith) kidnap her daughter and a friend to force her to open the safety deposit box of one of her bank's clients and give to them its content. Meanwhile, an investigation about police corruption in the department is already underway....This derivative (think of it as a cross between "Trapped" (which I have seen) and "Don't Say A Word" (which I have not)) thriller lingers too long on the anguish and fear of the desperate mother and the kidnapped daughter, which gives it a rather unpleasant taste. Still, the experienced director manages to get some suspense out of it in places, and Carlson gives a very convincing performance - I'd say she offers more to the film than the film offers to her. Typical low budget TV Movie

Shot very well with with good lighting, clear pictures and sound. Poor directing and acting along with a weak story. The soundtrack is horrible. Good if you like Amy Carlson and have time to burn.

It's a shame this was Thomas Ian Griffith's last film in years, he's a great actor and absolutely handsome! Great acting and super good looks, dude was meant to be a star. Years of a lost talent and the best looking guy I've seen in films ever. What are the odds? I'd be in heaven watching all of his movies if he kept with it, too bad. Now I know how sad people must've been in the fictional world where Batman retired in The Dark Knight.

Anyway, I loved this film because it was good, but especially because it had Thomas in it, a great actor and best looking guy (how could he have retired???).
