Once again The Boys delivers spectacularly with its writing and execution. It's well-paced, well-acted and well-shot. It handles its characters excellently and, once again, has some very cleverly-told social commentary on the media and society in general. Overall, a very well-directed episode that will surprise and entertain most people.

It's staggering how much better the acting and dialogue in this series is compared to most of Netflix

The scene in the metro with Hughie and Annie; not the best acting ever but right up there at least. The subtlety of the facial expressions, combined with authentic dialogue.
It's amazing really, how wildly superior this is to most of the absolute garbage I've seen recently. Almost as if I forgot what a good production looks like, but maybe that's the goal of this flood of mediocrity.
The comical, gruesome violence works really well for me but that might be a personal. I just keep laughing out loud whenever someone explodes like a watermelon.
Plot wise. Well, it's the first episode of a new season. The set ups for the main and sub plots are intriguing and we've yet to see if they're gonna pay off satisfactorily.
The direction/cinematography is nothing new or spectacular but it serves its purpose at least.

You think this is fun? You think Water's supposed to be fun?

Good opening episode. The highlight was the Black Noir opening sequence. Although, I will admit I was hoping a certain character that dies in that scene was going to play a bigger part in the season. He reminded me of Scott Adkins.
I also really enjoy when they talk about demographics and polling - so the Homelander & Ashley scenes were very entertaining. Especially the one involving Blindspot.
Other standouts were The Deep & what I'm guessing will be Homelander vs Edgar feud throughout the season.

So much darker and more intense than Deadpool!

Wow! Just watched Season 2 Ep.1 of this show so dark and horrific but also funny and very clever. Like Deadpool on steroids and with a series (so tons more character development) vs. movies.
We watched Season 1 a while ago and just binge-watched it again- it was dark (this show makes dark Batman, dark Superman, Thanos, etc. all look like shiny harmless Disney heros) but so far this new season is even more cringe-inducing. Like a train wreck you can't look away from- I did have to look away at parts.
This is one of those very adult shows that you either like enough to watch or you hate it- lots of totally inappropriate adult humor and situations.

If you truly love this series you can't help yourself to stop smiling when Butcher was back. That was epic. Great start for season 2, The boys were awesome together.
Cinematography was great, music is good and the writing for what is coming next is awesome, new super villain in town, vought going against each other. The death of riley shows how dangerous this people are but the only problem is that DEEP story is becoming a little boring.

I have missed this show so much. You don't realized what you have been missing until you enter back into this super hero world again. Truly a great start to another promising season. Other than an understandable lack of butcher, this episode is an absolute blast. I think a fear from the trailers fro some people was that homelander wasn't going to be in it as much, yet in this episode at least he was just as terrifying and incredible.
Great show. Great episode. Promising second season

We get a little more Black Noir which is never unwelcome in an extremely gruesome scene, Starlight and Huey's relationship continues to be tested, Homelander ruthlessly denies a blind supe into the Seven, we're introduced to Stormfront, somebody finally stands up to Homelander and the Deep begins to see the light. A lot is happening and I can't wait to see where it goes. Strong 8/10

I wasn't a big fan of the hughie and starlight drama or the boys focused drama in season 1 and it remains. Ep has many highlights from two new supers shown in a hilarious way, Homelander losing it, and clever writing.
Fun to see it back.

I love the opening of this episode. The funeral for Translucent .I was just watching Season 1 of that other show Amazon has, Panic. That show was such garbage I had to shut it off in the middle of Episode 5.
The Boys however, is a much better show and Season 2 here starts off with some greatness.
DADDYS HOME!!!!! 9/10.

All-round great episode. My favorite scenes include Black Noir's kill spree, Homelander's chat with Edgar, Raynor's unexpected death and Butcher's return.
We don't see a lot of Black Noir but when we do, he's amazing. Giancarlo Esposito is properly introduced as Vought's CEO Stan Edgar, after having a guest appearance last season. His character in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul is one of the most memorable; really looking forward to seeing him more. A feud develops between him and Homelander and finally there's someone in Vought who's not afraid to stand up to him. I'm curious to see how the feud develops. Raynor's death was abrupt and gory and I loved it. Finally, Butcher has returned, "Daddy's Home".

Boy does this season look promising. This episode feels like a nice reintroduction to the world of the boys, with translucent's funeral and the mystery of Butcher's whereabouts. Everything in this episode was pretty good a bit of the deep and annie's story lines, which I felt like could have been cut a bit down to focus on the more intriguing plots in the episode. But Annie's serves its part in the story and it's interesting to see this side of the Deep more then we did last season. But one of my favorite parts has got be Giancarlo Esposito as Stan Edgar, who is a great addition to the cast (like he is in every show or movie he's in) and I hope to see his character more this season. The scene where he stares down Homelander was probably one of the most badass scenes in this show so far. Speaking of which Homelander was also one of my other favorite parts of this premiere. Anthony Starr does a really great job portraying the part of Homelander that's calm and neutral while also balancing it out with his urge to snap at any moment. It just makes me even more scared when Homelander starts to lose his cool or tries to brush it off like he did with Stormfront (speaking of which I don't know how I feel about her yet. She's kinda annoying but also charming in a fan girl like way). I also really enjoyed Hughie's little arc that's going on, especially his scenes with Annie and Marvin. I don't know Jack Quaid just has this thing he does where he can make you feel sorry for him and feel the struggle he's going through and it's super relatable and charming. I wonder where he's gonna end up if he keeps going down this road. Especially now that Butcher is back in the picture as of the episodes end (speaking of which have no idea how Butcher got off the lawn where Homelander had him maybe that'll be explained but for now I have my suspicions).
So overall this is a really good welcome back to the boys and promises a whole lot in store for this season. Which I'm very much looking forward to.
Final rating: 9.1/10

A great first episode reintroducing the universe and its characters. A lot going on including the introduction of new protagonists.
My favourite is Stan Edgar portrayed by the fabulous Giancarlo Esposito who is the reticent Gus Fring from the Breaking Bad Franchise. He plays a different, but analogous personality here and retains the calm, resolute, yet menacing demeanour required to keep Homelander in-line.

Little slow but daddy is home now.

Season 1 was great and I love the first episode . Homeland is as ruthless as he is but later found that he is not most valuable assest in vought. Starlight and hughie partnership continues. Deep is still so messed up. Overall episode was little bit slow but acceptable as now daddy is home.

This is a great episode to start the show. There are many great moments like Black Noir killing scenes, Raynor's head getting blown off ,which was unexpected, homelander/Stan scene, he handled him really well. And butcher appearing at the end, my question is how did he escape Homelander or why did he let him go?
All in all this is a bloodily fun, enjoyable episode. I'll jump right into ep2

Solid start for season 2

This episode was a little slow but I suppose you need to put things in place for the season. However, I wish more care was given to details. The fact that Frenchie isn't French at all in real life and has one the worst accent is one thing, but a gang of Haitian with a Québec accent ? That is just a proper shame.

Started out interesting ,.. went downhill quickly. Urban is showing up only in a physical sense Hughie was interesting till he crashed at the end of season 1. The rest of the cast is like why bother putting in the effort. While most of the heroes have the physical fitness for the part, whomever had the idea to have Starlight do a bra and panties scene, put a big damper on the illusion of fitness. The edge is gone and it's resembles nothing else better than the transparent blundering of the political Press Office.
