In 2001-2002, UNC Wilmington students produced four episodes of a half-hour comedy/variety series called Uncommon Variety. It aired on UNC Wilmington television (UNCJ-TV) and was highly experimental, including music videos and computer animation, but mostly featured student-written, -directed, and -performed original sketch comedy. Equipment and facilities were provided by the UNC Wilmington Communication Department and Student Body Television, which is now known as TealTV, although the first two episodes were edited on student-owned equipment.
