Christopher Doyle is without a doubt, one of my favourite directors of photography in world cinema. His incessantly moving camera and manipulation of light, colour and shadow are unmatched, and his artistic contributions to the films of Wong Kar-wai, Gus Van Sant and Zhang Jimou, among others, has earned him many disciples over the years. In The Mood For Doyle, a 2007 documentary on the man, has made its way online, giving more insight into Doyle’s cinematic mind. The doc was made for Arte TV around the time he was shooting M. Night Shyamalan’s Lady In The Water, and features of a wealth of interviews with big name directors including Wong Kar-Wai and Gus Van Sant. Have a look at the 54-minute doc below.

Night Shyamalan's "Lady In The Water," the 50-minute movie features of a wealth of interviews with big names in film including Wong Kar-Wai, Olivier Assayas, Gus Van Sant, Fruit Chan and more, while, of course,...
