The Super Nintendo version Ys III: Wanderers from Ys removes the church crosses from the church and the main entrance and also removes the statue of Jesus Christ being crucified to a cross in the sacrament room that was featured in the Super Famicom version. However, some parts of the game remains uncensored, including the violent opening scene with Adol slicing the wildcat in half with a sword, the blacksmith store owner smoking a tobacco pipe and the Wing Bird woman being topless the banners in the background outside Ballacetine Castle showing crosses on the castle walls and references to death has slipped past the Nintendo censorship. Also, the difficulty has increased from the Famicom, Sega Genesis and Turbografx 16 release.
