Nifty retrospective documentary
Woodyanders2 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This 14-minute retrospective documentary covers some interesting and informative ground on the making of the John Waters film "Polyester." Tab Hunter reveals that he was doing dinner theater at the time as a means of keeping himself afloat and remembers working with Divine with great fondness although the shoot itself was long and exhausting. Mink Stole jokes about the cornrow hairstyle she sported in the movie and cracks that she got to look prettier than Divine in the picture. Mary Garlington points out that she was working as a receptionist when she landed the role of Lu-Lu. Everyone remembers Edith Massey as a sweet lady who had trouble learning and saying her lines. Moreover, everyone remembers Divine as a sweet and gentle person as well as a total professional who took the work seriously. Worth a watch for fans of the film.
