I don't remember when Agent Binky premiered here in Latin America, specifically in Argentina. I remember running into her by chance on Discovery Kids programming. I took a look at a few episodes, and that leads me to write this review.
The animation of the series is ... good ... I mean, compared to other computer-animated series it looks good, but if we compare it with other series that Discovery Kids broadcasts (made by computer obviously) it looks pretty bad. It can be said that it is regular.
The character design is regular, not to say lazy. The shell of Nola the tortoise has a rather vague "spots" pattern. To give other examples, the designs of Binky, Gordon and Gracie are remarkably similar to geometric shapes such as triangles and rectangles (Lol is the only one that is narrowly saved with their design).
The soundtrack of the series hardly stands out. Dramatic scenes are accompanied by basic sound effects, and other scenes are accompanied by music "from space" if you can call it that.
The plot and development of the series is the biggest problem in the series. The concept of "five pets, two cats, a dog, a fish and a turtle, commanded by a Persian cat, protect their human family from aliens / insects or machines" is executed in a way that is annoying. I give an example of the episode "The perfect gift" to analyze the structure of the episodes. In the said chapter Binky and the team want to give a birthday present to Fluffy, their boss (a helmet made by them). By the time they have it done, a bee intrudes, attracted by some flowers in the helmet. At the moment Binky deduces that the bee wants to keep the helmet, apparently unaware that bees collect pollen for the production of honey and no one seeks to contradict it, demonstrating a type of idiocy. Something like the episodes are, these five PURST members do something random, an insect arrives, Binky says his ridiculous codename and deduces a plan that these speechless insects "want to carry out" and the rest of the episode is based on how the The team tries to get rid of the alien in the most elaborate and unnecessary ways while his humans (a boy and his mother) are not or do not see them.
In closing I will say this: there were other ways to build the series, but they developed it in a way that is annoying and not worth the time to watch (unless you have noticeable patience). I do not recommend seeing it. View it at your own risk.
