Amnesty International awarded Aung San Suu Kyi with its "Ambassador of Conscience" Award in 2009 when she was still under house arrest. Aung San Suu Kyi was released in November 2010 and she finally received the award during her visit in Ireland in June 2012. However, Amnesty International revoked the award in November 2018 due to her failure to speak out about military atrocities against the Rohingya population.
