Freddy's Back!
shawnwilson33333 September 2023
Dylan's New Nightmare takes place 25 years after the events of Wes Craven's New Nightmare. Freddy has come come back to haunt the real world, and Dylan must face the nightmares of his past.

Cecil Laird takes over the director's chair for this unofficial sequel, but don't worry... he does a great job respecting what Wes Craven created, so the tone of the original films are somewhat there, but there is a little bit change.

Dave McRae really brought out some characteristics of Freddy from the previous Elm Street films. It was clear that he studied the mannerisms because I was convinced it was Robert Englund under that makeup.

Miko Hughes is the biggest highlight for me. He did a terrific job playing a traumatized adult version of Dylan's Porter. I really wish we got more scenes with him facing Freddy.

Overall, Dylan's New Nightmare is a definite must see for anyone who is a fan of the Elm Street films.

Couldn't ask for more from a fan-made short film
danniemann1 September 2023
A fan-made short film with effects, ideas, make-up and acting (at least from the lead) that could stand up against big screen offerings.

With a story that plays off of cannon characters and creative, horrific nightmare scenes- my only complaint is that it was too short. It definitely leaves the audience wanting more.

I could definitely see this as the first half-hour of a legitimate Hollywood film. Kudos to the creators, they must've worked their butts-off to get that kind of production value from a fan-made short film budget.

While not all of the acting is top-notch, the lead is fantastic. To get that kind of performance into a horror short is nothing short of amazing.

Are you ready for more Freddy?

Warning: Spoilers
Dylan's New Nightmare is an impressive fan made short film with New Nightmare actor Miko Hughes reprising his role as Dylan Porter. Dylan is now an actor and his mom is in a mental hospital. He's trying to put past trauma behind him, but everyone's favorite worst nightmare, Freddy Krueger, is back to haunt his dreams. Voice actor/filmmaker/YouTuber Dave McRae does a fantastic job as the iconic dream demon. McRae should be cast as Krueger in any future official Elm Street films. This film should have been longer, but it ends in a way that leaves the audience wanting more, which is always a good thing for a film.

The Terror Is Back
themovieraidshow6 September 2023
The story involves Dylan now an adult trying to be an actor while still coping with the horror Freddy left him in since the events of New Nightmare, but the feeling has still stayed with him that Freddy is alive.

The story has a good build up and doesn't veer away from what's happening with Dylan, the feel of Horror feels very familiar and the camera work very well shot. Another highlight is Dave McRae the portrayal of Freddy, the performance is a sure win on giving A Nightmare on Elm Street fans the vintage Freddy. The cast has a good balance and each plays well on the story. We also see another way of Freddy re entering the real world from Dylans past memories of Freddy and using him as a portalscape.

This is a fan film worth looking into with its new direction with the old vibe we all enjoy in a classic Horror film let alone franchise. Freddy is terrifying once again and is certain to cut into your life.

Awesome !

This feels just like a genuine continuation of the OG franchise, not like a fan film. We enjoyed it. And oh my God... Miko Hughes is so handsome... he's my crush. And his acting/performance is amazing. Dave McRae is so good as Freddy. The acting and the mannerism is so on point. Welcome back Freddy!! And the camera work is very good. Freddy's Makeup is topnotch. For a small budget fan film, the production value looks high and awesome. Kudos to the cast and crew. There handwork can clearly be seen in every frame.

I wish this was a full feature-length film. Anyone who is a fan of the Elm Street films should definitely watch this. We need more.
