Love this little town , brings back memories. Everyone knows each other , strangers go away. Waiting for the car to sink . Was it a deer , Shadow hit ? The memorial was fitting.

Season 3 not starting well

So far season 3 is terrible. Plot / Story arcs slow to develop. Find myself reaching for my phone because these episodes cannot hold my attention.

Seven stars. I actively disagree with the reframing of the Hinzelmann origin. It follows from the decision to make the show into a polemic against the European colonization of the Americas, and leaves us with a far less interesting story, in my opinion. That said, the Lakeside stuff is very well executed, although Shadow's coat is clearly WAY to light for serious winter. Then it's off on more tangents. But Tyr is a good tangent. So is the Salim/Ibis stuff, and the whole Chicago wake sequence. The return to Lakeside brings us to the mystery of the town. That's a great hang-point for the end of the episode, but it brings up another unrelenting problem the show has. It skimps too much on the story from the book in order to introduce tangents. If the writers had paid more attention to their source, they would have had a better story. As it is, there are too many times when the creativity doesn't pay off in the storytelling. 5 March 2024.

I know this show is strange and I like the weirdness, but this episode was boring. Just Stepford town folk doing stepford stuff. The best and only part was the brief funeral bit. I miss mad sweeney least there was never a dull moment when was around.

The dischordant music playing when Shadow was speaking to Zorya Polunochnaya on the roof literally hurt my head. I had to turn the episode off.
