I've watched every season, every episode up to this one within the past couple months, so I've seen these characters take shape. Watching Dre failing so miserably to connect w/ Diane seems so forced because he simply doesn't seem like the emotionally intelligent Dre that he's proven himself to be in previous, much earlier episodes, I'm talking back in season 1 and 2.
Dre seems like the stereotypical, emotionally stunted dad character in the typical family sitcom. That's been done to death and I think it's a terrible stereotype to perpetuate. Please bring back the introspective, fun, intelligent Dre that I know and love.
