Storyline
Plot Summary |
With the perennial winning team not participating this year, Leonard, Howard and Raj feel that their foursome are the sure winners of this year's edition of the university's physics bowl. They have to talk a reluctant Sheldon into entering with them, which they do manage to do. They regret doing so after Sheldon takes control of everything and as such has taken any fun out of the process. After the threesome kick Sheldon off their team, Sheldon vows revenge by forming his own team. Despite Leonard's discomfort with the idea, they decide to ask Leslie Winkle to be Sheldon's replacement, who declines until she learns that they are planning on destroying Sheldon in the process. During their match, Sheldon, who believes he is basically fielding a one man team (his teammates are a janitor, the lunch floor monitor and her son), has to decide what is the most important goal. Did You Know?
Trivia | Raj suggests "the actress who played TV's Blossom" for their physics bowl team to replace Sheldon. That actress would be Mayim Bialik, and she does have a Ph.D. in neuroscience. Mayim Bialik joined the show in the Season 3 finale and became a regular cast member in Season 4 as Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler. Raj also says, "How about the girl from The Wonder Years (1988)?" He is referring to Danica McKellar, who has a degree in mathematics, coauthored a physics theorem, and appears in the Season 3 episode The Psychic Vortex (2010) as Abby. See more » |
Goofs | At the end we watch how Leonard sits in the spot of Sheldon and he doesn't say anything, also he sits in another spot without complaint, this kind of behavior differs of the usual Sheldon behavior about sitting in his spot or that someone sits in his spot. See more » |

Crazy Credits | In the opening scroll of the time line when it gets to 91,000 there is a mistake the dates read 93,000BC 92,000BC 91,0009C 90,000BC for some reason 91,000 is a 9c not a BC. See more » |

Dmitri:
[Dmitri takes a quick gander at the equation, then rings in like it's nothing]
The answer is minus eight pi alpha. Sheldon: [to Dr. Gablehauser] Hang on, hang on a second, that is not our answer! [to Dmitri] Sheldon: What are you doing? Dmitri: [Wearily] Answering question; winning physics bowl. Sheldon: How do *you* know anything about physics? Dmitri: Here I am janitor. In former Soviet Union, I am physicist; Leningrad Polytechnica - Go Polar Bears. Sheldon: That's a delightful little story, but our arrangement was that you kept quiet while I answered all the questions. Dmitri: [Defiantly, without looking at him] You didn't answer question. Sheldon: [Hissing] Listen you! You may have democracy now in your beloved Russia, but on this physics bowl team, I rule with an iron fist! [Holds up his wrist-braced right arm with his hand clenched, then winces] Sheldon: Owwww! See more » |
