German Documentary about GOLDEN GLOBE nominee Hardy KRÜGER
ZeddaZogenau6 March 2024
This is a very nice documentary about the actor Hardy Krüger (1928-2022), who, after a successful career as a child actor during the Nazi era and in the Federal Republic film industry in the 1950s, also became a star in England, France and America to become. His most famous Hollywood films are certainly "Hatari" (1962) and "The Flight of the Phoenix" (1965), for which the German actor received a GOLDEN GLOBE nomination in 1966.

Loni von Friedl, EUROPEAN FILM AWARD nominee Mario Adorf (nominated for ROSSINI in 1997) and the French director Serge Bourguignon have their say as companions. With Loni von Friedl, Hardy Krüger made what is certainly his most beautiful film, the Berlin film "Two under Millions" (1961), which unfortunately did not receive the attention it deserved in the shadow of the building of the Wall. Serge Bourguignon made Hardy Krüger the main actor in his film "Sundays with Sybill" (1962), which became a global success and won the Oscar for best foreign language film in 1963.

Particularly impressive are the images in which Hardy Krüger, who was still a convinced Hitler Youth at the time, tells how his colleague Hans Söhnker opened his eyes to the crimes of the National Socialists while filming.
