Dad is out of work and his little girl is adopted by his dead wife's parents; but she pines in luxury. This situation is not at all new, but it is more convincing than the development for which the author is responsible. The picture aims at pathos, but fails to reach it. The little leading woman wears her gems even in scenes of poverty and there is no sincere acting. It has been well photographed and has several excellent scenes. - The Moving Picture World, June 21, 1913
