In one of the courtroom scenes, filmed at Paramount Studios' Stage 27 on December 2, 2019, Matthew Rhys had been questioning Robert Patrick, who was on the witness stand. The courtroom was filled with dozens of extras, including this writer. During a pause between scenes, while Patrick remained seated in the stand, Rhys waved his arm toward Patrick and said, "Ladies and Gentlemen, the T One Thousand." This was the name of Patrick's character in the film "Terminator 2: Judgment Day." The courtroom erupted with riotous and thunderous applause, yelling, and stamping of feet. Patrick smiled and graciously acknowledged the crowd.
During the mock cross examination, Hamilton Burger tells Perry Mason that no one "confesses on the witness stand." This is a joking reference to the 1950s TV series "Perry Mason," where guilty people would frequently confess on the stand under Mason's skillful cross examination.
Song over the final credits: a jazz version of the theme song from the 1950s/60s TV series "Perry Mason."
