I side with 'dull' in this Lumiere actuality. It's at a dock, and while men bob up and down slightly in their boats, a man on the dock slowly pays out a net to one of the men on the water.
I don't like rating it as 'dull', but while the composition of this Lumiere actuality is impeccable, the amount of movement is slight, and the usual contrast between lines of movement is not as sharp and defining as other, better movies. The boats go up and down rhythmically, although not be much. The movement of the net is steady, but seemingly very slight, as there is lots more of it until the very end. Still, as a record of then-current practices, it has some value. Yet that much can be said of almost any Lumiere movie of the period.
