PBS made four shows about the various beautiful old lodges that can be found in some of the more famous national parks. All feature lots of very beautiful camera-work, various interviews and narration.
This second episode is about three parks that are reasonably close together and would all three make a nice single vacation--the Grand Canyon (Arizona), Zion and Bryce National Parks (both in Utah). They also are not too far from Las Vegas--and my wife and I made a trip of Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Zion just a few months ago. I was fortunate that I was able to eat several meals at the excellent restaurants at the Grand Canyon (El Tovar) and Zion Lodge but finding rooms at these places is VERY difficult.
My review really isn't for the parks but the quality of the show--which is excellent. In fact, although it has a certain 'home made' look to the show (with simple camera-work and an impromptu look), it works exceptionally well. It really helps to create a great sense of beauty and relaxation--and it's something you should see, if you can, before you visit these parks--which you should do.
