An Inventive Look at the New Halloween Timeline
MichaelCKimball11 October 2021
Inferno is 45 minutes of fun Halloween madness. The Coleman Bros set out on a vision on where they believe the story after the 2018 movie ended. Well shot and acted, they chose to follow Sheriff Barker taking up the investigation into Michael Myers killing spree. I like that idea quite a bit. I watched the Boogeyman Cut and I'm glad I did, I appreciate seeing the story from start to finish.

If you are a Halloween fan, this one is worth checking out.

Far superior to Halloween Ends

I'm 32 years old and I remember watching Halloween five on my little box television when I was a little kid. Michael Myers has been a very important part of my life as a horror, movie fan and as part of a creator in general. I have collected almost all of the Michael Myers masks featured in the movies and I've seen all of the films 100 times over.

Halloween Inferno felt like a genuine sequel to the Halloween, Kills film. I think the easiest comparison to Michael in Halloween Kills would be "Oober Jason" in Jason X. Michael felt like a machine and you could really feel the pent-up rage and aggression. He had sitting inside of him for 40 years after escaping. This movie allowed us to continue to feel that visceral rage instead of seeing Michael hiding in the sewers for 2/3 of the movie.

From a film standpoint in general, Halloween Inferno was shot very professionally, and the actors were amazing. I really felt like I was watching a Halloween film instead of some other fan/student film. This was an amazing ending to what Michael's "final trilogy "should have been. I host a 24 hour marathon at my house every year for Halloween and I will be showing at this year's marathon.

When Halloween kills came out, I remember being at the edge of my seat and screaming inside when the murders were happening because they were so visceral. The Strode family, trapped Michael in the basement and set the house on fire. I was so immediately intrigued to find out what came next in the third movie.

Halloween kills, was amazing, and I remember leaving the theater breathless.

Flash forward a few years and I remember being in the theater and checking my ticket five minutes into the movie to make sure I was in the right theater. The movie itself did not feel like a Halloween film and including the Jeremy character and the bullied teenager subplot really threw me off. It felt like previous Lester films all over again where unnecessary subplots like live streaming, the events were being added in for no real reason.

If you're going to do a film about Michael Myers and Halloween, watch the other films and understand the character and the franchise. This film Halloween Inferno was everything I wanted as the follow up to Halloween Kills.
