Thought provoking

Ramy has always sat between the outlandish, traditional, modern etc this ep hit the nail on the head for challenging the status quo.

Topics raised were temptation, religion, hypocritism, commitment, superstition etc. But front & centre was disabilities & expectation. The immobile also have needs and desires, couple it with a medical element thanks to Ramy spoiling the party & you have a hot mix.

It's a hard watch I suppose because it's seriously borderline taboo but dealt delicately. I think the 0 stars are by those that are uncomfortable with the disabled being more than the sum of their physicalities.

It was not necessary!

We get it. Ramy has done considerable amount of effort to challenge stereotypes about the Muslims in the West. Yes, as any group, they are culturally different, but not to a level where they cannot be lived with. On the opposite, their difference adds certain otherness to Western society. However, with the content of this episode, certain watchers might feel uncomfortable in a certain scene while holding the belief that there are many aspects about the Muslim community are yet to be explored. Meanwhile, Ramy remains a novel idea to be brought to show business. We can only hope its continuance and success in the future.

awful

This episode tried really hard to be edgy and confronting, but it was just a lot of lazy writing. Are we seriously supposed to believe that either Ramy or Steve would actually do that? This is the episode where the show jumped the shark.

another masterpiece

Not sure why this episode received so many negative reviews. I noticed how very low this episode was rated compared to the others and was worried - but I enjoyed this just as much as the others. Steve Way's performance is fantastic and I always love seeing episodes that center on his perspective. There's a lot of subtle humor and real-world discomfort that this piece particularly taps into, and it does require the viewer to keep an open mind.

Ramy has outdone himself here

I'm a fan of edgy comedy: Rick & Morty, Curb Your Enthusiasm, It's Only Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer. But this episode is more hilariously outlandish than anything I've seen from those series or any other I can recall. If anyone figures out how to top this scenario, I honestly don't even want to see it! Even I have my limits.

You gotta respect writing that bare-knuckled bold. I used to think Mo was the funniest supporting character but I gotta hand the prize to Steve. Whenever he's in an episode, things go really off the rails. The last time was that uncomfortable scenario with the two underage girls, but that was the Tellitubbies compared with this one. I think Steve might actually be Satan after all, the Lord of Chaos.
