Good Enough

" Eccentric! Chef Moon " was an okay drama, but nothing original.

The overall story is predictable, as many korean dramas have already used this story line before. And yet, it was enjoyable. The food scenes were well made and entertaining, as the actors did a good job with their performances. The little girl was adorable too. The village life and the villagers provided a heartwarming feeling to the drama and some comedy relief when it was needed. The business drama along with the mystery of the past were okay, but nothing that hasn't been played before. Also, the romance was just okay, mainly because the female lead was annoying when she still had amnesia and acted like a kid or worse.

So, overall, six and a half out of ten.

Few good and warm scenes

It was a fair drama, i liked the scenes in the village.

I skipped most of the scenes about revenge and chasing.

Everyone acts so well. I liked the little girl very much.

It is a good drama after all.

I didn't like it, but I didn't hate it either...Golden middle!

Warning: Spoilers
A simple K-Drama that I enjoyed watching. Actually an unspectacular plot, since the main topics here are corruption, amnesia, contract killings, identity theft, something that happens frequently. Nevertheless, I wanted to watch the next episode full of curiosity.

The cooking scenes were very impressive and I was also fascinated by the sweet style of the restaurant in the village. I also liked Yoo-jin clothing style during amnesia. However, what I did not like about the main character was that she had two completely different personalities.

As a glamorous fashion designer with a very serious demeanor and a ruthless personality after the accident (no ordinary respect for the elderly, no greetings). With the naive behavior she was much more sympathetic to me, but I also did not understand how to accept the old self with the new memories immediately after the memory.

The villagers and the little girl gave the whole thing a lot more charm because everyone was special in their own way, did not pretend, but were human. The little girl was a sunshine, which made the chef a much better person and everyone else in the area. I would have been interested in who her mother was, but there was little talk about her father too and whether the little girl was aware of the situation.

The relationship between the two main characters has also left a slight flair of a sweet taste. A thin and tasty thread, the gentle handling of languages and behavior was informal - perfect. One point annoyed me here - as in any other drama, a choice is made between relationship and career, at least driven to a career with the promise of waiting for the person. Why is the long distance relationship never considered an option?

The character, the replaced mother, aunt, friend (whatever) was irritating and incomprehensible to me in terms of behavior. When she was confronted by the main character, she had waited a long time to explain and all the pressure from her for an illogical reason.

The character of the enemys daughter, on the other hand, impressed me so much more than everyone else. She had an important role because she showed how much a person can put himself under pressure, the desire for perfectionism and more power or fame, the disbelief in himself and the feeling of never being enough, she wanted her fathers attention, which she got wrong. I was glad that she was aware of it.

The ending was okay, as was the whole drama, from the script and the visual level. My favorite couple somehow.

The title is confusing
lmerana20 May 2020
The title meant two separate entities. Yoo byeol na means eccentric which is the female lead and then chef moon. I thought this will showcase more about food but turned out it has more conflicts so it is not a foodie kdrama. I don't loke too kuch extra characters of the neighborhood and other details became frustrating.
