The story is one of sentiment
deickemeyer23 September 2018
Dawn is the name of the heroine, lost as a child and taken by a white-haired hermit; she finds her father in the end. The story is one of sentiment and would have been better if the hermit hadn't been required to lie about the child in order to keep her with him. To cut that part out would take nothing from the picture at all. It is too full of studio suggestions to convince our feelings wholly, yet makes a fair offering. - The Moving Picture World, June 13, 1914
