Don’t mistake Netflix’s new unscripted series “Love on the Spectrum” for another reality dating show. Though the love-centric series, out Wednesday, follows the success of predecessors like “Love is Blind” and “Too Hot to Handle,” it’s not a competition at all — it’s a chance for neurotypical people to understand the experience of dating with autism.
“People on the spectrum want love just like everybody else does,” creator, director and executive producer Cian O’Clery told TheWrap. “It’s really refreshing and nice to be able to show people on an authentic dating journey who aren’t picture-perfect, good-looking people looking for Instagram followers.”
For starters, O’Clery and his team didn’t hire casting agents to go out and find their subjects, which consist of seven singles and two couples on the autism spectrum all living in Australia. Instead, they called autism organizations, social groups, disability employment...

Univision’s La Rosa de Guadalupe was Thursday’s top-rated show in primetime among adults 18-49 (Live+Same Day), scoring a 0.6 rating in the demo, along with 1.63 million viewers. It helped the Spanish-language network tie with ABC for the overall win in 18-49 on a night that also included NBC’s 30 Rock special and the season finale of Fox’s Labor of Love.
ABC’s game-show trio all suffered slips last night, with Holey Moley and To Tell the Truth both off a tenth and newcomer Don’t dipping two-tenths after it was last week’s top-rated show.
Univision’s night also included Médicos and a Chivas-Club America soccer game.
NBC aired its one-hour 30 Rock: A One-Time Special, which returned the cast from Tina Fey’s acclaimed sitcom that ran on the network from 2016-2013 to promote the launch of new NBCUniversal streamer Peacock.

NBC aired its hour-long reunion special “episode” on Thursday night to un-spectacular numbers.
The special, which doubled as a lengthy ad for NBCUniversal and its new streaming service, Peacock, averaged a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49 and only 2.5 million viewers across its runtime. It’s of course worth nothing that multiple NBC affiliates refused to air the special due to its promotional nature, which likely contributed at least in part to those small numbers, and that the special will probably generate the bulk of its viewership on Peacock when it launches there. The special will also air tonight across a bevy of NBCU networks.
In fact, “30 Rock” was beaten in the 8 p.m. time slot by a new episode of ABC’s “Holey Moley,” which scored a 0.5 rating and 3.4 million total viewers. “Don’t,” the new game show from Ryan Reynolds and Adam Scott, followed that up with the same rating and 2.7 million total viewers.

The “30 Rock” gang got back together on Thursday for what was essentially a one-hour commercial for new Comcast-NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock. (The unique upfront approach also plugged NBCU linear programming.) ABC’s putt-putt golf competition “Holey Moley” outperformed the “30 Rock” reunion special, coming in as the night’s highest-rated show on the English-language broadcast networks. NBC managed to tie CBS and Fox for third place in primetime ratings, rising from its fourth-place position in the key demo last Thursday, a rank it shared with Fox and Telemundo. In terms of total viewers, NBC was third, just as it was a week ago. Also Read: 'Labor of Love' Finale: And the Man Who Kristy Chose to Start a Family With Is... Due to its promotional nature for new streaming service Peacock, the “30 Rock” reunion special was not carried by all NBC affiliates across every cable provider.

Blerg: The 30 Rock reunion/NBC upfront presentation that aired on NBC on Thursday night didn't draw much of an audience. ABC's game shows were down as well, although the finale of Fox's Labor of Love ticked up a little.

Hey, "Labor Of Love" fans. Tonight, July 9, 2020, another new "Labor Of Love" episode did indeed air with headliner Kristy Katzmann and host Kristen Davis, and another unlucky guy was sent packing. Tonight's episode kicked off with Kristy visiting Austin,Texas to visit Kyle's hometown. On their date, they went on a walk and ended up at a child birth class. During the class, all the men were instructed to give the ladies massages in places that would normally be considered inappropriate like their rear and thighs. So, Kyle was definitely enjoying this class. Later on, Kristy talked with Kyle's friends. They obviously had good things to say about Kyle, which Kristy enjoyed. Kyle took Kristy to his small, one-bedroom apartment. Kristy told the private cams of Kyle's place, "It's definitely taking me out of my comfort zone. It tells me he's not ready to start a family."...

The CBS series “Broke” aired its last ever episode on the network to its lowest numbers to date.
The Pauley Perrette, Jaime Camil and Natasha Leggero signed off with a 0.4 rating among adults 18-49 and 3.6 million viewers. That represents a series low for the comedy in both metrics. For comparison, the series premiere back in April scored a 0.9 rating and drew 7.1 million viewers. “Broke” was the only original episode to air on CBS on Thursday night, as replays of “Young Sheldon” and “Mom” led the way at a 0.6 and 4.8 million viewers, and a 0.5 and 3.7 million pairs of eyeballs respectively. A replay of “The Unicorn” scored a 0.4 and 3.4 million viewers, while a “S.W.A.T.” rerun rounded things off with a 0.3 and 2.6 million viewers.
“Council of Dads,” which was just canceled by the network after only one season, ticked up week-to-week to a 0.4 rating and 3 million total viewers, its largest audience since the premiere.

Hey, "Labor Of Love" fans. Tonight, June 25, 2020, another new episode of "Labor Of Love" did indeed air, and headliner Kristy Katzmann did indeed get rid of some more guys to narrow her field of men down to just three. Tonight's episode kicked off with host Kristin Davis showing up with a fake baby for Kristy in the early morning hours. This showed Kristy what it will actually be like to raise a baby. The fake baby cried and everything just like real baby. The remaining five men were each given a fake baby to take care of as well, and they were scored on how well they took care of these fake, crying babies. Stewart told the private cams, "This is what I've been waiting for, for 40 years. I really want to show Kristy I'm ready for this. I'm so excited."...

It’s ironic, in an episode of Labor of Love filled with the cries of simulated infants, that the most grating sound is the whiny complaining of a fully grown man.
This week, Marcus apparently looked up “reality show game play” on Google and decided that he was going to “mastermind” — his words — the situation to ensure that his biggest competition would get sent home. Except it didn’t really work, and now the doc and two others are in Kristy’s Final 3.

Jon Stewart stopped by “The Late Show” Wednesday to chat with his good buddy Stephen Colbert about their crazy quarantine hairstyles (Jon thinks he’s “full Einstein” and that Stephen is “full ‘Shining'”) and to let everyone know that he’s been reading up on the 1918 pandemic amid the coronavirus — and he’s learned absolutely nothing useful.
“So here’s what’s crazy about it. The 1918 pandemic, the advice that they gave was, ‘Try to stay inside. If you don’t stay inside, wear a mask and socially distance.’ And I was like, wait, that’s 102 years!” Stewart told Colbert during their Zoom interview. “I was hoping it would make me feel better. I thought there was going to be some kind of old-timey, like, ‘Drink apple cider and mercury and that’ll be the elixir for your vitality.’ 102 years. We’ve literally just been driving in circles.”

Holey Moley topped Thursday’s ratings in primetime with a 0.7 in the adults 18-49 demographic and 4.15 million viewers, teaming with Don’t and To Tell the Truth to help ABC sweep the night in both metrics.
Don’t, hosted by Adam Scott, dipped two tenths from its debut last week. To Tell the Truth also dropped two tenths, while Holey Moley was steady. The trio all won their respective time slots last night.
NBC countered with fresh episodes of Council of Dads, even with a week ago, and Blindspot, which grew a tenth. Fox also went with an all-original lineup, with Celebrity Watch Party steady again in the demo and Labor of Love even while ticking up in viewers.
CBS peppered in repeats, including the night’s most-watched program Sheldon, along with a new Broke, which was steady.

Hey, "Labor Of Love" fans. Tonight, June 18, 2020, a brand new Labor Of Love episode did indeed air with headliner Kristy Katzmann and host Kristin Davis. Tonight's episode kicked off with the guys getting told they had to do a physical challenge in this episode. At one point, Kristy told the private cams, "I need to spend more time with Kyle, Trent and Keith because I haven't had a 1 on 1 date with them yet." Next, the guys were introduced to their physical challenge. They each picked a partner for it. Then the challenge turned out to actually be a labor pains challenge. The men got on team-birthing stations where they were hooked up to a stimulation machine so they could see what it's like to go through actual labor pains.

Yes, it’s silly to watch the guys mug for the camera in a whole new way. But I’m far more entertained by the succinct, kinda outta-nowhere way Kristy dispatches one of her potential baby daddies later, before the elimination ceremony even begins. The idea is for the men to make it through the whole pain process to "birth" but they are able to throw in the towel if it gets to be too much. "I was an endurance athlete. Dating shows have always been a guilty pleasure. Ever since the ’60s with “The Dating Game” and “The Newlywed Game,” audiences have been hooked. But in the modern viewing era, only one franchise has stuck in viewers’ hearts.
“The Bachelor” debuted in 2002, and nearly two decades later, no other show has managed to break through. But almost 20 years after the ABC franchise premiered, romantic reality shows are again having a moment.
Now, in our shelter-at-home world, audiences have found a trio of Netflix shows: the social experiment series “The Circle”; “Love Is Blind,” viewed in more than 30 million households in its first two months; and the raunchier “Too Hot to Handle,” which challenges horny 20-somethings to refrain from engaging in sexual activity while frolicking around a sun-drenched resort in swimsuits.
