Possible Epileptic trigger
packor30 May 2023
For HK/Chinese dramas, I'd rate this below average. The story is all over the place, with things getting explained after the fact, the characters are pretty unbelieveable, and finances that don't make sense.

What I really want to mention is a possible PSE trigger in the last episode, episode 20. I don't know who thought it was a good idea, but you get hit in the face with bright, red flashing lights on a dark background. I don't have epilepsy, and it made me uncomfortable. I'd recommend skipping 23:50 to 24:02. That is when the fire is burning. You skip some ambulance lights, and come back inside the ambulance.

Grrrrrr! Again?!?!

Warning: Spoilers
Another Long Asian Series That's REALLY GOOD, But In The Last Half Hour They Slap Together A Cheap, Contrived, Crude, Inane, Sophomoric Ending, The Likes Of Which An Elementary School Child Could Have Written!!!!! WOW!!! I'm SERIOUSLY getting jaded from these Eastern shows that are 16-50 episodes long, extremely engaging,I fall in LOVE with the characters and become invested in their future outcomes. Look, I get it,life doesn't always have a happy ending, but 1- that's why we watch TV &Movies, to escape from the doldrums and depressive state of real life, 2- they got us invested in the characters, so OF COURSE we want to see the best possible outcome for them, and 3- there's a difference between having to have a happy ending, and not getting the thought-out, conducive to the plot, ending that we and the characters deserve!!!!

I honestly can't tell you how many of these Asian TV series I've seen recently, by watching on Netflix, where they get to the last half hour or so of the last episode, where it's like they LITERALLY change writers, because all of a sudden they will have the characters behaving differently, and/or an unprecedented event will occur to COMPLETELY CHANGE the course of the story and the futures of the characters!!! Each time this has lead to heart ache!!! SPOILER ALERT, This time, You spend 20- 45 minute episodes, cheering one character on to better his life and fall in love with another while she falls in love with him, then they bring her first love back, mix him in, but give you hope that he won't hurt their chances in the very end, but literally in the last 10 minutes they have him fly away to Australia, come back to check on her but purposefully mislead her into thinking he'd moved on with his ex, and when she was politely happy for him,he took that as her life was good,so he was going to disappear forever (maybe,we never know for sure, there's more but I won't ruin that) so she was in a Catch 22!!! She was broken up,but as we know, she's always been an emotional cripple. It played out very cheaply, brokenly, and fast. It was SO DEPRESSING!!! It makes me wish I'd just stopped watching before the last episode! Really, what's the point? Is this an Asian culture thing? Because I can't find anything about it online, but it's not limited to this show.... However, I think if you watch this show, and you aren't familiar with school "habit"(?) that you should be prepared, so you're not upset like I was! I would have rated this a LOT higher,if not for the less than "Bountiful" ending!
