Top lawyer says anonymous client remains traumatised over alleged assaults by film producer in UK and Us after 2000
Harvey Weinstein could face a civil compensation claim in the UK from a woman who alleges she was sexually assaulted by the Hollywood producer in Britain and the Us.
The woman, who worked in the film industry, currently wishes to remain anonymous but is represented by a prominent London lawyer, Jill Greenfield, who has previously won significant damages for a client in a civil rape claim.
The unusual route for redress could lead to further civil claims in the UK against Weinstein, who is facing multiple sexual assault accusations from women on both sides of the Atlantic. He denies any allegations of non-consensual sex.
Scotland Yard has said it is investigating allegations made last month by seven women against Weinstein, some dating back to the 1980s.

Having made a splash in Bollywood with Ranjhanaa and Shamitabh, Dhanush didn’t go on to cash in on his popularity. Opening up on his career and the opportunities that came his way in Bollywood, he told Times of India, “Many good scripts came my way, but I am waiting for a role that will be unique; the character should suit me and my limitations. I don't want to do a Hindi film just for the sake of doing it.

A young girl feeding a sea lion in Steveston Harbour in Richmond, Canada, in British Columbia, over the weekend was dragged into the water by the massive mammal.
The terrifying moment was captured on video by Michael Fujiwara. In the footage, the animal can be seen initially bobbing around near the dock. The girl, who has not been identified, gets excited by the sea lion’s presence — not knowing how dangerous the situation would become.

An authority at Steveston Harbour, where a large sea lion lunged after a young girl and dragged her into the water in a now-viral video, is speaking out about the dangers of visitors feeding wild animals.
In the video captured by Michael Fujiwara in British Columbia, Canada, the animal can be seen initially bobbing around near a dock — and appeared to be tossed food by people off-camera — before a young girl gets excited by the sea lion’s presence, not knowing how dangerous the situation would become.
The little girl then turned her back to the water as she sat on a wooden ledge.

During an appearance alongside Governor Chris Christie at the NJ Reentry Corporation Conference at St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, Tyson asked Christie to give Trump a call about the pardon he says he was promised. “Man, governor, I wish you could talk to Donald Trump, ’cause I haven’t talked to him in many years,” Tyson said. “Tell him he said he was going to give me my pardon so I am waiting for my pardon. Well, just as I predicted, in last night's Supergirl episode we find out that Supergirl is already pregnant thanks to Mon-El, and that Superbabies are indeed on the way! Or at least that would have been a much better story than what we got. Instead, this episode was split between two different stories and one of them was as predictable as rain in April.
The first storyline in Supergirl involves poor Winn and his new alien girlfriend Lyra, as she has been playing him the entire time (shocker) and used him to break into a museum to steal the Van Gogh Starry Night painting. Apparently, she has the same, and only, superpower that Mr. Terrific has in the comics and is invisible to technology. In fact, Batman used him to bring down his own creation; Brother Eye.

This podcast focuses on Criterion’s Eclipse Series of DVDs. Hosts David Blakeslee and Trevor Berrett give an overview of each box and offer their perspectives on the unique treasures they find inside. In this first episode of a two-part series, David and Trevor are joined by Pablo Knote to discuss three films (I am Waiting, Rusty Knife and Take Aim at the Police Van) from Eclipse Series 17: Nikkatsu Noir.
About the films:
From the late 1950s through the sixties, wild, idiosyncratic crime movies were the brutal and boisterous business of Nikkatsu, the oldest film studio in Japan. In an effort to attract youthful audiences growing increasingly accustomed to American and French big-screen imports, Nikkatsu began producing action potboilers (mukokuseki akushun, or “borderless action”) that incorporated elements of the western, comedy, gangster, and teen-rebel genres. This bruised and bloody collection represents a standout cross section of what Nikkatsu had to offer,...

More than 20 years after making her name as Pedro Almodóvar’s muse, the Spanish actor and fashion icon is starring in his latest film, Julieta. She discusses age, glamour – and why she wants to play a kung fu superhero
Rossy de Palma’s left eye is a gentle sea-green, the lid softly hooded; her right eye is brighter and rounder, a sparkling hazel. As the sulky, menacing Marian in the new Pedro Almodóvar film, Julieta, the left eye seems to dominate, casting a melancholy spell. But today, as herself – a vivacious arthouse icon – the right takes over. She is positively radiant.
The skew of her features is softer in person than it looks on screen, her long nose more Modigliani-elegant than Picasso-strange. Still, her looks are such that it would be impossible for her to walk into a room without being noticed. In fact, as I am waiting in the...

Devious Maids Season 4 Episode 7 revealed that not only is Spence not Tucker's father, but Carmen's new boy toy is spilling to Dani everything about her birth father. We also had Zoila imagining Adrian during a makeout session with Kyle, and Marisol hooking up with Jesse again.
The best part of the episode though, had to be Evelyn moving back in with Adrian only to bring her boyfriend James with her as a form of revenge.
You see my husband, a horse's ass named Adrian.

However, despite Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk being confirmed to join the series’ third installment, actors Ray Stevenson and Zachary Levi, who play Volstagg the Voluminous and Fandral the Dashing, respectively, haven't received Marvel’s call. “I’ve heard that it’s on the cards,” Stevenson told IGN about Thor: Ragnarok. “As far as Volstagg is concerned, should he be called with his other Warriors Three to protect young Thor again, within a heart’s beat he will be there. So, I am waiting to hear.” Despite not hearing from Marvel, Ray Stevenson says, “I’m very excited about the whole thing actually.” When asked about the Marvel threequel’s subtitle which suggests some dark things on the horizon for all of the Nine Realms,...

Celebrity Big Brother star Janice Dickinson has clashed with Jenna Jameson after stealing her kosher food.
The model had a heated argument with the Us porn star after opening her kosher fridge, which Jenna interpreted as disrespecting her religion.
The argument sparked around dinner time, when Janice went looking for food and found Jenna's designated fridge.
Despite warnings from Farrah Abraham and James Hill, Janice searched in the fridge and opened a pack of celery.
After hearing the news from Apprentice star James and Fatman Scoop, Jenna said: "I'm about to go eat Janice's f**king face."
After a discussion about the fridge and Janice's perceived disrespect for her religious beliefs, Jenna charged into the bedroom, saying: "I came to her hella cool, please respect my religion and that I think it's really disrespectful that you found out that it was my food, my kosher fridge and she went ahead and ate it.

Bombay Velvet didn't do well at the box office but Karan Johar's acting was appreciated by most people. However, the actor hasn't received any acting offers after the film.
"No one has offered me any roles (post Bombay Velvet). I am waiting for that phone to ring. I don't mind even a bad offer. I tried my best but I don't think anyone wants to see me again on screen. And I won't blame Anurag Kashyap for not getting acting offers post the film. Please put it out there if you thought my work was good, I should be offered more work. At least give me an opportunity to refuse it," said Karan.
When asked if he would cast himself in his own film, Karan said, "I can't cast myself. I am not that stupid."
Well, we really, really appreciate your self-deprecating humour, Karan. Way to go!

Los Angeles - Last night musicians and comedians gathered at the Ace Hotel to honor the 60th anniversary of Allen Ginsberg's groundbreaking poem "Howl," in the form of a benefit concert thrown by the David Lynch Foundation. The non-profit centers on spreading the word about the benefits of Transcendental Meditation. Sounds like a laugh riot, right? Actually, everyone fared pretty well... Raise your hand if you've had an abortion... or you can just slap me five when you leave." Amy Poehler "I love rap music but I despise poetry." Chris Parnell, prior to rapping "The Ballad of the Skeletons" with Amy Poehler "This should go for two or three hours. Let's round it up to six... Follow your inner moonlight; don't hide the madness. Of course, everyone knows that coaches Blake Shelton and Adam Levine are the backbone of The Voice, but I am waiting to see the chemistry of all the coaches together. I think it will be awesome.

During a pause in the missile attacks, the cameras roll and a young Palestinian girl playing the role of Anne Frank speaks her lines against the backdrop of a bombed-out school in Gaza. “Why is a nation spending more money on war than on medicine, education and art?” she asks, her words both weary and wise. It is a question for the ages, one that could be asked of any war. But in this case, it’s being asked in the middle of a war zone during production of What Does Anne Frank Mean Today?
Two days later, cameras are rolling again. There have been more missiles, more destruction, and more death. The young actress takes her mark in front of a new set of ruins and begins to talk about Anne’s hopes and dreams for a future that will never be. As she speaks her lines, two men...

After three months of prolonged exercise, producer Siddhartha M Jain of iRock Films and director Sanjay Chhel are finally relieved. Their controversial movie Kill The Rapist has been cleared by the Censor Board. The film would arrive with an ‘A’ certificate with only one minute of footage being chopped off from the final cut.
The movie stars Sunny Hinduja and Anjali Patil, amongst others. The film deals with the perplexity of a young woman who is dealing with a rapist who stalks her and eventually, taking things into her own hands, fights back vigorously. It was but natural to have some explicit scenes and curse words in this hard hitting movie.
Sanjay Chell said “Ideally, I would have wanted my entire footage to remain as there is nothing sleazy about it. It is futile to present sexual violence any differently.” The director said “We have accepted this suggestion and now...

Teen Wolf Episode 323
“Insatiable”
Written By: Jeff Davis
Directed By: Tim Andrew
Original Airdate: 17 March 2014
In This Episode…
Deaton forcefully removes the demon flies from Isaac and the twins, while Scott heads up the “is it Stiles or is it not?” brigade. Noshiko is there with her oni footmen. They inspect Stiles, then disappear. This Stiles is more Stiles than nogitsune. So now the search begins for nogitsune-Stiles, and Lydia.
The sheriff is relieved to see Stiles and Scott come to the station, but that relief is short-lived, because there is still an evil clone out there. Stiles makes a link in his brain. He remembers Meredith from Echo House and thinks she is the key to finding Lydia. Though no one draws the conclusion that Meredith is also a banshee, it seems fairly obvious from the start. Anyway, the sheriff goes to Echo House and finds out that Meredith...

Although the rapper reaffirmed his plans to continue his collaboration with the high-end retailer, their kickoff event has been cancelled due to, ‘unforseen circumstances.’
A party scheduled for Nov. 20 to celebrate the Jay-z and Barneys collaboration has been canceled. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the event has been canceled,” read a statement released to the Wwd from Barneys. The Barneys-sponsored event was a fundraiser for Jay-z’s charity, the Shawn Carter Foundation. The news comes after a controversial start to the partnership. After the retailer was accused of racially profiling black costumers, the music mogul’s fans pleaded with him to quit the collaboration, however, Jay-z announced his plans to continue his partnership with the brand and is even adding a fragrance to the line provided that he can assume a leadership role and handle the issue of racial profiling. Glee, Season 5, Episode 4, “A Katy or a Gaga”
Written by Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner
Directed by Ian Brennan
Airs Thursdays 9pm Et on Fox
After a month-long World Series induced hiatus, Glee is back pitting the Katys versus the Gagas in an episode which is crazy, fun, and a little bit too much, just as it should be. While the performances in this installment were too much in the best, most ridiculous ways and took us back to that now classic season one episode, “Theatricality”, there are enough awkward and unjust interpersonal moments to make us wish desperately for a song and dance number.
The inappropriate Penny/Sam relationship is still going and going strong. I am waiting for it to backfire, but for some reason that rarely happens to the characters who are in uncouth partnerships, such as Puck and Kitty, whose pairing, based on the dialogue exchanged by the two characters,...

Exclusive: Wayne Fitterman, the longtime co-head of UTA‘s below the line division, is exiting, I’ve learned. The Production Department continues to be headed by Pete Franciosa. The pair have long steered the seven-person department that reps editors, cinematographers, costume designers, visual effects and other personnel. I’m told that Fitterman was going to leave with three of his colleagues, but at the last minute the others decided to stay. I’ve confirmed Fitterman is leaving, and they were all in talks to move to Wme, but I am waiting to see if in fact Fitterman ends up there. It is unclear which of his clients would move over with him.

Possibly the last person on earth I want to write about is Chris Brown, but then he goes and gets arrested for felony assault in Washington, D.C., after allegedly hurling “I’m not into this gay s**t, I’m into boxing” at two guys who were trying to photobomb a picture with some girls before slugging one, who says he needs surgery. Brown claims the guys were trying to board the bus. Still, a felony assault charge won’t go well for Brown’s probation.
The New York Times has a lengthy profile on gay couples who aren’t getting married. While I fall into that group, I wonder why this is a story. Fewer and fewer couples of any orientation are getting married these days, and with Glbt folks locked out of marriage for so long,...

It's a sunny Friday afternoon in early August. I am waiting outside of an old three-story building in Dumbo, in what used to be an old, industrial neighborhood of Brooklyn, right across the East River from Manhattan. The neighborhood has been rapidly gentrifying in the last two decades with luxury high-rises and condos. I know the neighborhood pretty well and have been coming down here for years for various reasons. I am supposed to meet Zachary Heinzerling, director of Cutie and the Boxer and his subjects, the Shinoharas, in their studio. They appear from the south side of the street with the iconic dark blue steel beam of the Manhattan Bridge in the background. The Shinoharas, Ushio and Noriko, a pint-sized elderly Japanese artist couple, look just...
